I checked the magic-lakers thread and saw no mention of it. It was, simply put, one of the most posterizing, embarrassing(for howard), nuts in your mouth dunks i have ever seen!! Can anyone find a picture of it??
By the way, I don't think Howard cared, he outrebounded every Laker and his team won. Kobe will always be Kobe so it's just fair game.
I was watching it live, Dwight has reasonable grounds for sexual assault after that one. DeShawn Stevenson was guarding Kobe and not even looking at him (Probably a nice looking 15 year old in the crowd) and Kobe just blew past him and posterized the rook.
seriously? that's awesome. i didn't think they'd do something like that. how'd i let myself miss that. i watched it live too and after he split the double you could see how open he was and knew it was about to get ugly. then howard decided to slide over to get on the poster and kobe just threw it down on him. the force he dunked it with was impressive. in the early running along with steve's posterization for dunk of the year. and i'm pretty sure howard cared about it at that moment. i'm sure he'd trade it for a win too but it's not like he was trying to let it happen. that was just nasty.
Howard had 3 fouls and since he plays mature beyond his years, challenging it might be the macho thing to do, but he knows damn well that he'll be called for a foul, so he ducked.
It was pretty bad, Linda Cohn (sp) was saying something to the effect of welcome to the league and your first posterization and then they paused the end of the dunk, put a white border around it and then had Kobe’s signature go across the bottom. It was the same picture that that Cheaprings posted but from the side. I hope Howard didn’t see it. It could be psychologically damaging.
Man, that dunk was beyond sick. The way some of these NBAers get above the rim, it's just impossible to stop.
