Just heard on Stephen A. Smith's radio show re-broadcasted by ESPN radio. He said he rather plays on Pluto than for the Lakers.

Wow great news, I would trade him for T-Mac in a second, plus whoever L.A would want along with him, the man wants to be the best player player in the league, he has that fire Jordan had. Him and Yao would be the best duo sine well Shap and Kobe. However for some reason I think Kobe would rather play for New York/Bulls/Clippers.

Do you really really want to trade Tmac for him though? Kobe is a better player, but a egomaniac. Tmac is a good guy and a great playmaker. Without Shaq, neither one of them made it out of the first round.

tmac goes to LA. i gurantee kg/jermaine o'neal would soon follow.

remember, shaq when he was traded wanted to play with tmac in orlando but they had no cap space.

GREAT NEWS! Finally the East will get more balance.

I am absolutely BETTING on him going to one of only two teams: Bulls or Knicks.

    Bet your life on it...

Errrrrrr, wow. This is one of the least likely developments that I thought could happen after the playoffs. The Lakers pissing Kobe off enough for him to demand a trade? Nah, I thought. Well, it'll be a mad house on ESPN until he is traded.

kobe wants to win. how the hell does he want to go to the clips? lakers woudl want curry + 2 other guys to get kobe. now kobe is left w/ jack. and u want to pair him up w/ starbury???

bulls might be a good choice. but getting kobe would cost a lot. gordon + deng + another player. bulls might pull the trigger on that.

bulls/clips seem like a good choice b/c they have more pieces to still contend after trading to get kobe

houston is another b/c u have yao

    another is orlando or phoenix

I totally agree. Theres no way he's gonna play for a small market/small city team. and by small, i mean any city besides LA, NYC, or Chicago. I dont really think the knicks have the players to pull off that trade unless they throw in more first round picks, which would just be hilarious, but the bulls.....they could definitely swing it.

Technically, the Lakers can trade him to where ever the hell they want him to go, so it doesn't have to go to a contender.

Curious enough, would a top draft team trade their pick for Kobe?

kobe has a no-trade clause. kobe can say no to any trade that he does not like. and u think a team would want to give up a lot of get kobe knowing he wont try very hard.

I am betting that Stern is currently doing absolutely everything in his power (including promises of rigging the lottery and future trades) to get Kobe to NYC.

This is shaping up to be an 'earthquake' of an offseason...

The Lakers will definitely not get back what they are giving up, so, at the least, this means that the Rockets will have one less strong competitor to deal with, I think.

I really, really hope that he can go to New York, or maybe Boston. The NBA needs those markets to be somewhat successful, again.
