Whoops, ron, you pushed this one to the top!

I am really suprised by this. Must have been something damning in the lab results. Kobe might be in some serious crap now.

Ron, your thread should be dropped on the basis of your having read the "Vail Daily" alone, lol!

I can't say I'm surprised. Why would they take Kobe to get DNA tests unless something had happened?

But I feel bad. For Kobe, he's still very young, people at that age are just prone to bad decisions. And then this stupid trial is going to be like a cloud over the NBA decisions.

I was worried that the DA would be intimidated by Kobe's defense team. Not that I want him to pursue charges if he has no case, but I'd hate to see Bryant go free because he's got the suits.

Yep. He's been charged by the 34 year old prosecutor.

MINIMUM PRISON TIME - 4 years!

    Okay lawyers...please explain.

Wow. Not saying that he is quilty, but I really thought that he was innocent. This could be very bad for Kobe.:(

The prosecutor looks like Woody Harrelson. KOBE STOPPER shall be his new nickname.

Is it too late for Payton and Malone to reneg on their deals and become Rockets?

Have to say that, while I appreciate these sympathies for Kobe, he may have committed sexual assault. Poor girl, I say! let's see if the truth comes out, but if he's guilty, that's more than a youthful mistake, right?

"Oh, my bad. I'm young and I thought it was cool to force people to ____ me. Whoops. I'll strive to be a better person."

edit: T_J's post makes me wonder if Bruce Bowen will be hired by the DA.

Holy cowl. The legal analyst on ESPN just said the if Kobe is found guilty of this, he will "not be allowed to have animals in his house". WTF?!?!?!

Wow. I am still of the opinion that he is innocent until proven guilty, but if he sexually assaulted a woman, I would neither dismiss this as a bad decision, nor worry all that much about him suffering from a cloud over his sporting career.

About a week ago, when they didn't charge him at first, I thought it would be dropped. But seeing the rhetoric from defense coming out the last copuple of days made mebegin to wonder.

Having philosophically stated innocent until proven guilty, logic would suggest that, given the profile, the prosecutors must really think they have a slam dunk case to proceed at this point.

Thank you, from a girl! I'm not saying I think he did it or not, but if he did, then this poor girl deservse some closure to this.

And shouldn't this be a good thing for the Rockets (in terms of the game), considering the threat that LA is posing?

Kobe's wife, Vanessa, just issued a statement that said "Kobe is guilty of adultery." So now I guess the question becomes was it forced or consensual.

I wonder what Kobe's wife is saying to him about now. Men have been know to stray when their wives are pregnant. But Kobe took it too far, it seems.

It is obvious some exchange of fluid took place. Now Kobe is stuck having to prove that it was consensual. If the girl has a clean history, Kobe is going to be pleading for probation.

This is going to get interesting. Kobe's team will now try to smear the girl/victim as a ho. That should do wonders for his formerly clean image.

He didn't say that - he only said that one of the possible restrictions could be on having animals in his house, along with a bunch of other limitations that could come as a result of a guilty verdict.
