<iframe width="560" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/ypPX_MfxfG0" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe> If World Peace is ejected from the game and then faces suspension for his elbow on Harden then what the f*** about what happened in 2009? If I recall NOTHING happened to Kobe, not even a fine! If Kobe got ejected from that game, Rockets maybe win game 2 and go up 2-0, if World Peace gets suspensions for this Kobe should have been suspended for a few games as well. Basically, Rockets would have beaten the Lakers in the series and played in the WCF. Not to mention, Kobe did a similar dirty stunt in the same game to Battier <iframe width="560" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/0PsPATt5_DA" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe> So basically, KOBE gets to do whatever dirty things he wants and gets nothing, not even a foul called on him. That is some major BS. Rockets got screwed in that series.
It's different though it is still an elbow and was definitely favouratism. The Fisher elbow is just as bad and should've been 5-10 game suspension, Kobe's at least 1 game and ejection. That whole series reeked of conspiracy and rigging. The craziest thing was we all predicted that at least Joe Crawford and I think also another referee were going to be in game 7. Even if that game would've been close, the refs would have put a stop to any possible upset.
Yes, Kobe is dirty and should be punished more harshly. But are you kidding me? That elbow was no where near as vicious as Artest's on Harden. And that was when they were fighting for rebounding position. Artest clocked Harden CELEBRATING. So no, Kobe didn't do the same thing to Artest.
At least Kobe's could be argued as "incidental" contact due to it being while they are jockeying for position under the basket. Artest's elbow was by far worse than this with it being more or less in the open court. Not even close. Now the Fisher incident with Scola... that's a different story
Kobe did get suspended after a shooting follow thru exaggeration against Manu iirc. Anyhow, the difference is Artest knocked Harden out. If Artest had just hit air, he would have been T'd up and that probably would have been the end of it.
The 2009 Rockets were the best team since the 1993-1995 Rockets. Such a shame that we were so unlucky with all the injuries.
Chris Childs punched Kobe in the face in '00 and received a 2-game suspension, same ban Love received after stomping on Scola's face earlier this season. Considering Artest's history, I think he'll miss anywhere from 5-10 games and get hit for 50 large.
This is a stretch, Kobe's elbow was during a basketball play, and should have been a flagrant one. WP's elbow on Harden was an assault.
Good to know I wasn't the only one who cried. It was good to see the Rockets relevant and making some noise in the playoffs...too bad most people seem to just want to see them be better than 13 other teams though.
Kobe getting special treatment is nothing new. It's on the long list of reasons to hate the Fakers (of which Artest is now high up there, too).
