i may have miscounted by something to the effect of 24 points!! wow. that's greatness. and i'm not even such a huge fan of him.
Both Kobe and T-Mac are studs. Now Lakers trail T-Wolves only by 2 games. I would love the Rockets playing either of them instead of Kings and Spurs. Go Rockets!
It won't matter unless the Lakers win their division which at this point doesn't look too good since the Kings are playing just as hot. Remember, the division leaders will get the number 1 and 2 seeds. I think it's a safe prediction to say that the Rox will either play Minnesota or the Spurs (if they go on an incredible hot streak). But then again, the Rox could try to get the 6th seed and then maybe the Lakers get the 3rd seed. Today's game didn't help though, now they're 2 games behind Memphis.
http://www.nba.com/games/20040315/ORLLAL/recap.html 37 of 38 points in second half. Talk about stepping up and playing through an injury.
theirs that lakers on: off switch. They alawys seems to be traling going into the fourth and then turn it on.
I watched that game and Kobe put on one of the best performances I have ever seen. McGragy was having his way with Rick Fox and Devean George in the first half. He had 21 point in the first half while Kobe was very passive with his shoulder and only had one point. Then in the second hand Kobe stepped up to the challenge and started guarding McGrady and completely shut him down. He was taking it to McGrady on the offensive while posting him up and shooting with his left hand. He totally dominated this game with 37 points, 24 coming in the 4th quarter. Did I mention that the Lakers were down by 20 or so points when Kobe took over. It was like a playoff game in LaLa land last nite.
Kobe is streaky. He can go 2-10 in a half and than explode to something like 12-14 in the second half. It's no denial that when he's hot, he's unstoppable. Eventhough I don't like Kobe personally, I think he is the MVP for the Lakers, not Shaq.
i wonder what team kobe will play for next year ....prob the clipps. i think t-mac will be traded too.
you guys are crazy if you think the Rockets can take out the Lakers in the first round. We have not played LA with Malone yet, and frankly they are a different animal come playoff time. and we should know that considering what the Rockets did to the Spurs in 1995. I'd like Minnesota myself, then the Spurs, Lakers and the Kings in that order. I think we can hang with this year's spurs team.
I would love the Rox to play Minny in the first round. Playing LA in the playoffs is WAYYYY different than playing them in the regular season, just ask the Spurs and Kings.
True. But the Lakers are the only team audacious enough not to double team Yao. If they do that, we have a good chance of beating them. Plus, there's a chance Kobe's shoulder or Malone's knee be reinjured. I think it is possible for us to "sneak up on" the Lakers. It would be reminiscence to what we did in 1986. We beat a Lakers team that had 3 superstars. They said they didn't know the Rockets young center was "that good." Hmm. . .
