Alright, here are the rules: you only get ONE pick for the team you trade him to; no multiple trade scenarios in one post (you can post multiple times if you want, just keep it one trade scenario per post). Let's keep it clean, simple and easy to read. Keep it 'realistic', so no "T-Mac for Kobe" proposals because it just won't happen. Kobe for Yao? That's more realistic for both sides.
So, instead of a trade of a SG for a SG/SF. A more realistic trade is a SG for the best C in the league? Come now. If you don't want the thread to turn into a "Kobe for McGrady" discussion that's fine, just say that because Kobe for McGrady is much more realistic than Yao for Kobe. Ugh, it feels wrong just typing Yao for Kobe
Successful Scenario Due to Houston and L.A. Lakers being over the cap, the 25% trade rule is invoked. Houston and L.A. Lakers had to be no more than 125% plus $100,000 of the salary given out for the trade to be accepted, which did happen here. This trade satisfies the provisions of the Collective Bargaining Agreement. edit: The deal also includes oru first round pick and the rights to Badiane. LOL it won't happen but hey, I posted a trade!
I posted this in one of the other threads. The thing people need to remember about trading Yao is that he is BYC. This means his outgoing salary in a trade only counts as half of his actual salary.
I can imagine a Kobe for KG and filler trade. Or maybe a trade involving Marion, Barbosa and Rose. He's so fricking spoiled, he's probably going to get traded to a contender. Even though he's a complete ass
That trade with Pheonix could happen, but why would KG want a trade from one lottery team to another? Edit: And if the TPups were trading KG, why would Kobe want to go there?
I'm not sure for what players, but I have a feeling Mark Cuban is all over the phones. It'll make me sick, but I feel that if he is traded it will be to the Mavs.
Kobe for Marion+Diaw+ Atlantas 1st next year that Phoenix is going to get or if it's not enough Marion+Diaw+Barbosa+ Atlantas 1st next year.
Why wouldn't T-Mac for Kobe happen? If the Lakers want a superstar, the best ones available will be KG and T-Mac. Cuban will try to get Kobe, of course. But he'd have to give up Dirk. The Fakers would be suicidal to trade Kobe for anyone else on the Dallas roster. The Bulls and Knicks can put together a package of decent players, but the Lakers would be in lottery land if they traded with either of those teams.
Because T-Mac has a lot of baggage. I think the only way he ends up here is if he says he wants to be here.
I know this sounds crazy...but maybe Kobe to Boston for Paul Pierce and their top pick. Just throwing it out there. Someone else mentioned Kobe to the Clippers. Also sounds perfect for Kobe since he gets to stay home, but I imagine Buss would move heaven and earth to avoid that situation. A few things to consider: He won't go to a small market city, and he probably prefers a city w/ a legacy. Boston fills both. Kobe for KG seems good but I doubt Kobe will ever step foot in Minnesota unless he's on the visiting team. Houston would fit the bill too. But I'm curious, why is Kobe for Tmac out of the question? LA needs to get the maximum value for Kobe, and it might end up w/ Tmac if Houston decides they'd rather keep Yao.

We'd also switch second round draft picks with the Lakers this year (then we'd draft Acie Law), plus we'd have to give up our first round draft pick in 2009.
