Temptation's a mother****er. I mean, come on, do you realize how hard it would be not to crack with hot women knocking on your door every night? I'm not condoning it at all, but he's only human.
She is hot, but being a star in the NBA comes with far more temptations than a regular guy like you or me will ever see. I remember stories of Magic Johnson when he was explaining his promiscuity that he nightly had several girls at the same time. Being a young star in the NBA I would be looking to sleep with every hottie in site. However, I wouldn't have got married and I would strape on a jimmy unlike Kobe and Magic.
being in the nba or not, he still shouldn't have done it. what a jerk. you wanna cheat on your wife? get a divorce, then go bang all the women you want... in the meantime, you are (unfortunately or not) committed to that one woman...i have no sympathy for him... hell, LOOK all you want, but once you touch you open yourself up to alot of potential mess....
I agree with rH. Without regard to the temptations that invariably arise, Kobe is married. He has a child. Forget about all of the women he could 'bang' -- what about the one he supposedly committed to when he married her? Now his child will grow up and be exposed to the stories of 'what daddy did to mommy' back in 03'. Kobe screwed up. We like to think that celebrities have arms-length, de-sensitized lives that really don't garner much emotional impact. If a spouse had cheated on any one of us, chances are we would be devastated. I feel sorry for his family. If it wasn't consensual, I feel extremely sorry for the young lady in Colorado. One person I don't feel sorry for is Kobe. Temptation is no excuse. We each come to crossroads in our lives daily. We all have to make decisions that may impact our future. We all have to choose whether we are going to do the right thing. Kobe made a choice on June 30th. He now has to live with the consequences of his actions.
I would bet that over 80% of NBA players cheat on their wives. I'm not saying he is right but he is not in the minority.
One thing I hate is when these guys pull out the "I'm only human" card or the "I'm a man just like everyone else" card. This implies that all normal "humans" cheat on their spouses. This couldn't be further from the truth. Call me ol' fashioned, but I always thought not cheating on your spouse was one of the main characteristics that separated humans from animals. Such a lame excuse....
But "normal humans" aren't presented with anywhere near the amount of temptresses that people like Bryant are. I see what you're saying, but his willpower is tested a heck of a lot more than Joe Schmoe's. He just made a (huge) mistake, something that humans are prone to.
He was aware that women would be throwing themselves at him before he got married. Unless he was positive he could fight off the temptations, he shouldn't have gotten married. I think the guy got married way too soon without thinking about that.
Yeah, he's what, 24 years old? Not exactly the most mature guy in the world. Young people make mistakes.
Hopefully, good can come out of this for the parties involved...I am human too. I am married, but I have "looked" at nice-looking women in admiration...(My wife even says go ahead as long as I don't "oogle" in front of her.) ...The thing that I realize is that you don't touch even if a part of you wishes to get back to the single life and bang every hot female you can...It all comes down to whether you truly love your wife or not, and the choice is not even close after this consideration...
Because he can. He knows, like most pro athletes know, that his wife will forgive him. You think she wants to give up being Mrs. Kobe Bryant. If she does leave him, he can always marry some hot supermodel or actress.
One interesting thing to note in that Vanessa has been involved in her own scandal as well. So it wouldn't be surprising is she understands his predicament in a twisted way. I wouldn't. But I can easily see why she would.
she was the first Black miss America, then Penthouse released nude photos of her, and she was forced to give up the crown. So she was put into a very similar situation when you think about. Everybody judged her. And yet, she probably felt as though she didn't do anything wrong.
Uh, PSJ - isn't that Vanessa Williams, back in 1984? Kobe's Vanessa is younger than he is...and may have just barely been born in '84!
Shes not that hot, shes alright. But He still has to be faithul if he decides to get married. Bad decison, now if it is proven that it was a criminal act, than he really messed up.
