Soon as Bynum goes out you wonder if the Lakers will suck now...

Kobe with 48 points tonight against Sonics tonight in OT and hit the game winning shot with 4 ticks left.

I don't understand how the guy does it.

Much as I hate to admit it, that game was awesome. I like watching KD play, but seeing the Sonics get killed all the time is boring. They had a chance but couldn't stop #24. Career game for Collison but he missed the one shot that really mattered.

BTW, the Kings/Mavs game was even better, especially the outcome. Kevin Martin is just amazing. How in the world did he get so good? He is on his way to becoming one of my favorite players.

Holy crap, I didn't even notice that. Damn...44 shots to score 48 points, unbelievable. His career high is 47 though, wow.

Taking 44 shots is not easy. That's superman's energy.

But Kevin Durant choked. This kid didnt even think about the shot clock in last possession of regular time and left 6 secs. for the Lakers.

But the biggest sucker is Luke Ridnour. Ridnour was doing okay until the last few possessions in regular time that he decided to take over the game. Ridnour just gave away the game to the Lakers. *sigh*

21-44FGA 47.7%FG He was barely getting to the line so it's not much of a big deal, his teammates were struggling and he had to pick up his scoring.

The Kings/Mavs game is crazy. I hope the Mavs lost so much that I yelled out "Yeah!" after John Salmons' runner in final 2 sec..

K-Mart is good. But John Salmons surprises me. At first, I think Salmons was a chucker when he's a Sixer. I thought it was a bad signing for the Kings. But Salmons's scoring and driving abilities are better than I thought. Now, his contract looks like a good deal for the Kings (better than Mike James's contract for the Rockets).

Come on guys, Kobe had 48 points, while shooting just under 50%. He also lead his team in assists with 7.

Stop hating on the Lakers and Kobe. They have won like 6 (I think) in a row now.

I now we are all Rockets fans and are supposed to root for our team. But the Lakers are not like the Jazz or the Mavericks. Atleast that is how I feel...

IMO Kobe now has the chance to prove why he should be the MVP this year, now that Bynum is out and Celtics have lost a few.

Oops I was looking at Odoms stat line :D

But Kobe needs to dominate the ball now because that's how the Lakers have a chance to win.

I think Portland and nuggets will be more realistic choice. Utah is finally healthy, Okur has been out for awhile, and their schedule is getting easier so i m expecting to roll past nuggets. As for the rockets, unless some team's having injuries issues, it will be very tough for the rockets to crack in the final spot! :(

Nah... Bryant and the Lakers suck. They'll always suck. They'll suck if they win out the rest of the season. They'll suck for the next hundred years.

    Good game by Bryant, though.

Speaking of the Kings... How about my favorite coach Reggie Theus! I love his attitude, style, morals, where he came from in life, you name it- I love it.

Their 3 best players and 4 of last years starters (Bibby, Martin, Artest, (Rahim)) have all missed extensive time this season yet that team doesn't give up and Brad Miller still plays inspired basketball. They go out and add Salmons, Udrih, and Garcia over the past 2 season. When healthy that is one insanely deep backcourt and swing position.

Just amazing. With all the other lakers playing like a bunch of imbeciles and playing no defense, Kobe somehow has the energy (with the flu) to muster up 44 shots. In fact, that on it's own is more impressive than the 48, the amount of energy you'd require to take 40+ shots is ridiculous. By the end of the 4th, your legs would be dead. But not Kobe, in fact he got better as the game went along and down the stretch in Ot.

    Truly amazing.

PJ Blew that game, they had a foul to give and didn't use it.

Without Bynum their big got abused by Sonics front line

    Nick Collison 24pts/18rbs/3blks,
    Kurt Thomas 16 pts/9 rbs/3blks,
    Chris Wilcox 12 pts/9 rbs/2 blks

They could've easily won the game had they not gone to Durant twice in the closing seconds.

Kobe though was unbelieable. It was like Kobe against the Sonics. But even superman can't do this for 8 weeks. They're playing just like the old Lakers.

Agreed, but PJ should have fouled Kobe with about 6 seconds to go, and Durant taking that last shot in regulation with more than 7 seconds to go was really inexcusable.
