Our dryer has been acting up lately. It heats up and works, but then it just shuts itself off for a while, almost like something that is overheating. It won't always come right back on, sometimes you have to let it rest for a while before it starts again.

Anyway, it's an older dryer and I don't know if I should have someone come out to fix it or if it may be something I could do myself. Or maybe I should just buy another dryer.

    Any suggestions?

Thanks RIET, but all I can afford right now is to buy a cheap used dryer.

Does it have a setting that would be just Tumble (no heat)?

If so, does it get hot at that setting?

I think the google ads might actually google the text in the heading or even in the body of the page and use it to put the right ad up there. if you go into the spider bite one or any others it has information pertaining to it in there.

I think used dryers around here can be had for under 50 bucks. Don't know about where you live. You could always do it like the rest of the world, hang it on cloth lines.

Silly question, but have you made sure the exhaust for the dryer is clear?

Thanks Mango for the links, I at least have some stuff that I can try to do now. First will be to check the exhaust area to make sure it's clear.

Yeah, I cleaned the lint, but I didn't know to check the exhaust. I'm pretty clueless when it comes to home appliances.
