According to a team source, Knicks president Donnie Walsh recently rejected a three-team deal that would have sent Anthony Randolph to Indiana, the Pacers' first-round pick to Portland and Rudy Fernandez to New York. The Blazers are insisting on a first-round pick for Fernandez and, due to trades, the Knicks do not have one of their own until 2014. The Knicks were trying to shop Wilson Chandler in an offer for Fernandez, but Portland doesn't seem interested. If New York really wants Rudy, they will have to get a third team involved -- one that has a desirable first round pick in Portland's eyes. It's pretty obvious that Fernandez has played his last game as a Blazer. http://www.nydailynews.com/sports/b...walsh_recently_rejected_deal_for_rudy_fe.html Pacers with another steal if this happened..
Very interesting. Could you imagine how athletic and long the Pacers starting line up would be: Collison Paul George/Brandon Rush Granger Randolph Hibbert That looks like a respectable young starting 5 to build around.... I live in Cincinnati, so I watch alot of Pacers games. If the Pacers dont trade Granger to us, i'm definitely going to enjoy watching these guys run, and throw down some nasty dunks, courtesy of Collison.
Walsh maybe have been dumb for giving us those pick to get cap space for this summer, but he's not that stupid.
I wish this trade were to happen. We'd be killing two Birds with one stone. Getting rid of Randolph would have the Pacers probably better than the Knicks and have one less asset in a trade for Melo. Also it would make our picks even better.
I'm in agreement with most in that I see Randolph fetching much more than Rudy Fernandez. For one, Rudy is a jack. But he is irrelevant ....or should be in this conversation. The fact that Portland had the audacity to offer him straight up is hilarious..... guess anything's possible if Zeke is anywhere near that team. A guy with Randolph's size, youth, and versatility (lots of upside) should be worth Rudy + a one minimum.
I don't know much about Randolph but is he worth a 1st? ....just replace Indiana with Houston... Houston: 1st rd pick (plenty to choose from) TE for Randolph New York: Randolph for Fernandez Portland: 1st for Fernandez
Teams can't be without a first rounder in 2 consecutive years. Since they don't have a pick in 2012 (we have it), they can't trade their 2013 pick (or the 2011 pick they'll have, either theirs or ours) until after the 2012 draft. Thus, the soonest pick they could trade now is 2014.
