I dunno if anyone has posted this yet but if they did my bad but if not good news we have come one step closer of adquiring jackson... Friday, October 12 Updated 4:33 PM EST Knicks lose exception, Mason loses leverage by Chad Ford The NBA's two biggest complainers both had more to moan about Thursday. Anthony Mason lost his potential leverage with the Bucks when the Knicks were informed that they would be denied a $4.5-million medical exception for Larry Johnson. Latrell Sprewell not only lost a chance to get that big man he covets, but also may have lost the only legitimate big man left on the Knicks' roster -- Marcus Camby. The news was not a terribly big surprise to the Knicks on either front. The league denied a similar request by the Nets for Jayson Williams because the injury actually occurred last season. The Knicks had until Oct. 1 to apply for the exception and because they did not, they've lost it forever. As for Camby, since when has he ever been able to limp through an entire season? Plagued by what seems to be a worsening plantar fasciitis, Camby asked out of the Knicks' preseason game Thursday night after only six minutes. An MRI is scheduled for today. "I was having trouble getting up and down the court," Camby told the New York Times. "Every time I landed on my heel. Just the pounding and the jumping and the added weight. I can feel more pressure on my feet."
Marc Jackson and Mason have been connected all offseason. The exception of NY could have been used to acquire a GS player, and then GS would match the offer. This is old news, but a new article on this forum, I believe.
Thanks for that news! Good post. This has been the longest 15 days ever. Between waiting for the season to start and waiting for Jackson, this is taking forever! Now that preseason started, I'm waiting to see Griff and Rice in our rotation. I'm ready for the season to start. -krosfyah
Just two more days!! I just hope Camby's injury, does not make the Knicck do something crazy in order to get MJax.
