The 4-14 Knicks playing the Nets, with 2 minutes left, and the seemingly sold out crowd is on their feet screaming.

Testament of good fans are those who are there even in the hard times, Knicks are going nowhere anytime soon and people still show up and cheer loudly. Have to give them props.

And I'm switching between the Davis-Durant duel at the moment.

Knicks are 5 times louder than the New Orleans crowd whose asleep and a half full arena with the most exciting player in the league.

I don't think New Orleans deserves Davis let alone an NBA team.

Agreed. The NBA just wanted to avoid bad PR, but the Pelicans should be in Seattle.

New York is a huge market. You could split their market between three teams and they would still be the three biggest markets.

That's true, but OP's point is that the fans that attend Knicks games are passionate and engaged regardless of the circumstances. You can say the same about the Bulls fans.

I think it has more to do with East Coast bball culture than anything

NY will always be a stronger basketball market than Houston... hell, Dallas is a stronger basketball market than Houston thanks to their 15+ years of success and recent championship, and nobody would have ever seen that coming back in the early 90's.

Houston didn't sell out every game after their first championship season either.

    Pretty much.

High-school ball...college ball...even Street Ball...all have pretty good history and passion behind them.

I actually wish the Knicks would get it together. Knick fans are usually pretty cool and no one hates the Knicks more than their own fans any ways.

I don't know about that. Houston and DFW are pretty equal when it comes to basketball, despite the recent success by the Mavs. Though the Mavs' D-League team plays in Frisco (North Dallas suburb), and their games are broadcast on local tv. That would be cool if the Vipers were the same way.
