http://sports.yahoo.com/nba/news;_ylt=AkKLX.cVCkpID4H7TuMVZUi8vLYF?slug=ys-anthonytrade092610 Let it be remembered that Clutchfans was all over this possibility first. I am guessing that Gallo is the main player going out, with draft picks and expirings. If the trade gets expensive, the Knicks are in a great spot because they can threaten to wait for free agency, which is what Carmelo seemingly wants to do, no matter the contract situation. Players that could interest the Rockets... Anthony Randolph Ronny Turiaf Wilson Chandler Wilson Chandler is VERY interesting. Statistically efficient with defensive potential and a good head on his shoulders. I like him more than Battier and Chase, but I am sure I am in the minority. I have always been a huge Randolph backer as well, so I am excited!
that's ****ed up. taking something that was originally their's and giving it back for something else. that's like being bullied. Knicks should still do the trade with us if they want Melo.
Chandler is a SG and not a SF. What are you talking about. We allready have Martin and Lee there. Turiaf by himself is nowhere enough for the 1st pick. Maybe Randolph in a packiage.Turiaf would be a terrefic backup C.
1. He is 6-8. 2. He played some Shooting Guard because Gallinari/Harrington played the Small Forward. 3. The positions of Shooting Guard and Small Forward are for the most part, interchangeable. 4. The old saying is that "You are what you can guard". 5. DraftExpress lists him as a Small Forward. http://www.draftexpress.com/profile/Wilson-Chandler-505/ 6. CBSSports lists him as a Small Forward. http://www.cbssports.com/nba/players/playerpage/1231860/wilson-chandler The fact that he played nearly half his minutes at Small Forward with Danillo Gallinari and Al Harrington playing significant minutes is in itself, very telling. http://www.82games.com/0910/09NYK10.HTM
Do we ship out a player with this deal? Or just the picks, and we get back Randolph using the trade exception?
Not even for a draft pick? Damn, I'll take young, somewhat proven players for a middle of the road draft pick.
I wouldn't do it, unless they give us the player AND an equivalent draft pick in one of the later years.
Get Randolph and keep on the roster. Then go for Paul George. Perhaps giving Jordan Hill and something more :$
Pretty sure Knicks would offer anyone but Gallo and AR, at least at first, for the pick(s). Also pretty sure that Morey would reject all these guys-- some are good players (Chandler, Buike, Turiaf), but Rockets already have good players, they need someone with upside to be better than what they already have, or to bring a skill they don't already have and will likely earn minutes. Anyhow, I hope the Rockets snag AR, or better yet Gallo, but it will probably cost more than a pick or two.
Not exactly sure how Morey would be in Walsh's nightmares if something like this were to go down? Rather, it would almost be confirmation Walsh's strategy worked. Free up cap space by trading Jeffries, which allows you to sigh one max player, to seriously upgrade at point, to bring in other players who then, some way or another allow you to get that true superstar you want. No, its not the Heat offseason, but given that was never in the cards for anyone but the Heat, it would be basically the dream scenario for ny. Probably not a championship contender, but Felton/Amare/Melo with Dantoni coaching will be an offensive machine that will make the playoffs and keep the arena full and fans pleased. Ironic that they'd have to trade back for picks they just traded to make it happen? Sure. Fortuitous of Morey to act as the facilitator throughout? Definitely. Still, even with the upside of Chandler or Randolph, so,ethnic feels a bit lacking for the rockets after the Bosh target, then the Melo to Houston rumblings, etc. I'd imagine! Especially if Moreys involvement becomes a lynchpin, as it could with NY lack of assets otherwise, that DM is trying to figure out what more he can get.
