[Knicks.com] McGrady hears that ex-teammates miss him

This link has D'Antoni's post game video about the game:

But this part caught my attention:

    [rquoter]
    ...

McGrady’s five and a half seasons with the Rockets had its ups and downs. Houston made it to the playoffs four times with him on its roster and T-Mac made three All-Star appearances with the Rockets. But the swingman just couldn’t avoid injuries and ended his Rockets career away from the team recovering from last season’s surgery.

“I heard some chatter about how they (the Rockets players) wish I was still there,” McGrady said.

But he is clearly hoping things go a little more smoothly for him in New York, where he has played in 16 of the 17 games with the Knicks since coming over at last month’s trade deadline. And judging from his short stint in the Big Apple so far, he’s on the right path despite admitting he’s still not 100 percent healthy.

    ...
    [/rquoter]

What do you think? Is McGrady getting false information? Is he deluding himself? Or do some of his former teammates miss his presence?

That's bullish... He mistaking himself for Landry? They don't miss him at all.

I'm sure he was close to Keith Jones, but players?

I know he was always distant from a social standpoint. So it seems kind of weird... maybe an assistant coach or someone random like Todd Day said something.

McGrady did the best he could. The game always looked so effortless for him. Best of luck for him.

Kevin Martin, Hill, and 2012 1st round pick. Yipeee!!!

Some probably do, whether as a person or as a player. Even Justice admits he's a generally good guy and he's certainly talented (when healthy). Not suprised he still has friends on the team.

It was a misunderstanding. T-Mac still wishes he was here.

Unless we can see inside of heads of every player on this roster, then nobody knows how they truly felt about McGrady.

    But if this is true.....(which I don't know b/c I wasn't there)..then I suspect that these words would have come from Yao { Flame suit on}

You don't spend 5 years "in the trenches" with somebody and not form a close bond with them.

    *****

Doesn't matter though.....he's not a Rocket anymore the past is the past.

Why in the world would they miss him? I just don't see what he has to offer, to where they wish he was with the team. I could MAYBE see someone like Taylor saying it if Mac helped him a little this year. With what Martin has brought the team, I just don't see the guys really caring. I think Mac is totally delusional, I don't believe a damn thing he says anymore.

You could see it late in the game, both Lowry/Brooks were on his sides and they were all laughs and smiles.

I know that McGrady= Satan around these parts, but alot of these guys have played on this team with him for 3 + years. Also alot of these guys hang out after hours and on road trips. Who better understands how it is to be an NBA player than another NBA player.

And 1. I found this hilarious, and I would have been even if we lost the game.
