http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2005/scorecard/02/15/truth.rumors.nba/index.html why would larry brown leave the pistons to coach the knicks? all these high expectaions the knicks have, they are not the bulls, celts, lakers, they havent done anything, why do they consider them selves elite,i hate that knick attitude. they won the nba title how many times?once?
Maybe because New York City is a fantastic place to live.* Is Detroit? I don't know, I've never been there. But if I had to choose between living in the two cities, I'd pick NYC. Not that I think Larry Brown is going to go there or anything. I'm just saying, there SOME non-basketball reasons. *IF you have a ton of money.
the knicks only won 2 championships, but that puts them in the top 7 nba franchises of all time: celtics - to many championships to count...16? lakers - 11? bulls - 6 pistons - 3 rockets - 2 spurs - 2 knicks - 2 they have unlimited spending money. it's a huge media market. the knicks job is allways one of the most apealing for players and coaches alike.
They are the worst team in the worst division in the NBA. They have the highest payroll in the league, leaving them with no cap flexibility until, what, 2009? Their GM has forked over their future first-rounders (though they have a pick this year), and they are left with an almost non-existant young talent base... Unless you're a Knick fan, in which case Trevor Ariza is the next Shawn Marion. It doesn't matter how much money Dolan has to spend: basketball-wise, the Knicks are done for the forseeable future. On top of everything, their best players are cancers. Sure, New York is a nice place to live, but who in their right mind would want to coach this disaster?
actually in 2 yearsthe only players left under contract are marbury, crawford, jyd, kurt and sweetney. they are looking to move jyd and kurt for shorter contracts in order to clear even more space (thats where we come in and offer mo). if they resign ariza and draft some big guys they will have a nice young team: draft05 sweetney-draft06 ariza-draft07 crawford marbury don't forget that at that point they will be under that cap and NY allways attracts big name FA's. the knicks were a mess for years now but things are looking up. this may not be the spot for phill or larry, but a nice young coach who can grow with the team would be excellent. :::cough:::flip:::cough:::
NY will turn it around at some point. As bad as they've been since JVG's final yr, you still always see players around the league daydreaming about trades to MSG. Carter, Webber (all the way back to his last contract), etc. NY is the biggest stage in pro sports, always has been, for good or bad. I pesonally believe Isiah has to go for the team to find it's way out. Dollars get you donughts that he won't wait for all those contracts to come off the cap. He'll use expiring deals in a trade. Not totally his fault, either - NY is not the kind of place to put up with a gutted rebuild job. Of course, the current mess isn't going over so well with the fans. Evan
Valid, and valid. The original question was LB. He's Carolina Blue, thru and thru. But, he's more Knick than 'Heel, as they are his rootedest (don't try to look that up!) roots. So, LB, have your going away present. Have the Knicks. PS WHEN IT has been blown up, will he be like a cat and land on his feet? Again. I think this time is Isaih's last go. I hope so.
