Interviewed before the Nets game. Edit: try this http://www.sports790.com/cc-common/podcast/single_page.html?podcast=Rockets Basically said Thomas Robinson most likely will not play.
McHale looks to be keeping expectations very low for Thomas Robinson. People expecting him to be an immediate rotation player will likely be disappointed.
That personality trait sucks in my opinion... Give the guy a fair chance to play if he's awesome he's awesome... Everyone is not Chandler Parsons but give this guy a chance like Chandler Parsons got if Thomas Robinson earns it. Be optimistic like you were with Parsons Kevin McHale.
Everyone does get a fair chance in practice. Parson's teams keep winning in scrimmages which is why he got to play.
Lol Lin didn't but a lot goes into why like Royce White said McHale is a co worker. Sometimes teams not just the rockets screw up and let their minds deceive what their eyes see on the court. Getting past the X's and O's... Knowing how to run the pistol offense... I hope Thomas plays great but if he's not the best bet to play at 4 don't start him but if he his throw him out there that's all I'm saying.
I'm beginning to like McHale as the coach. Which is a big step considering how much hate I have for him since 1986.
Yep. What surprised me most about the deadline was the move of Morris for a 2nd rounder. It pretty much forces McHale to use at least one, if not multiple rooks in the rotation at the 4. It sounds like DMo has the inside track by virtue of having a sometimes ok jump shot. Curious to see how Robinson is used -- in some senses, it's easier to use Motiejunas at the 5 if Robinson is the 4 relative to any other combo. Robinson should immediately be our 2nd best rebounder after Asik. Then I guess it's a question of Motiejunas vs. Smith and/or Smith vs. Robinson?
This moves were made for next season in mind. The Rockets knew what they had in Patterson and Morris. They need to find out what they have in DMo, Jones, and Robinson to have an idea about what to do in 2013 FA. The best part of these trades was the fact the schedule gets easier the next few weeks, so the Rockets can set up the new rotation while hopefully beating the below average teams.
