What game did this occur in? I know it was in the 2nd round of the playoffs, but I don't remember which championship season, and which game.

i remember Johonson seemingly having a open layup in the open court, but olajuwon chased him down from halfcourt line an swatted the crap out of the ball. that was the most awesom shot blocking effort i've seen, EVER.

Yeah, that was it. Nice dunk? Yes. However, the game was totally out of reach at that point, and the Rox were on their way to a title, while KJ and Barkley were about to endure another offseason of, "How the HELL did we blow another big series lead to the Rockets??"

    That's a shame....:))

Among the many gifts KJ received was a one-of-a-kind statue of his historic dunk over Houston's Hakeem Olajuwon from the 1994 playoffs.

Man the have a STATUE of that dunk?

    It was GAME 5 1994

I know what block you are talking about here. The one where Bill Worrell said "He swatted it into the 3rd row!"

I want to make a point that this block did not occur in the playoffs vs the suns, but it was a regular season game in the 94 season, the 2nd time the suns came to Houston.

Kevin Johnson would have gone down as one of the 50 greatest players of all time and probably the best point guard not named Magic Johnson in the modern era had injuries not hampered his career. I can't think of more than a handful of players who could completely control the flow of a game with their passing and presence like KJ could. Great athleticism, quickness, passing, unreal court awareness, and excellent medium range jumpshot. Dominated the ball a little bit too much though. During his rookie year, I thought Steve was going to become this type of player based on the dominance he showed at times. He had all the physical tools and I thought the point guard skills would come with experience. Unfortunately, that never happened.
