Looking to redo kitchen cabinets in our house. Home depot seems to have pretty good prices/promotions. I know having built on site custom made cabinets are the way to go but that prices things very high.

Do you all know of other places besides Lowes and home depot that sell "ready made" cabinets you can order or are the options Home Depot/Lowes or custom made.

Looking to redo the kitchen nicely but not wanting to drop 30K on cabinets.

    Thanks CF!

and you get exactly what you pay for.

don't know about ikea kitchen cabinets, but if its anything like their other stuff (dresser, book shelves, etc.) i would steer far away from it. particle board crap is not visually appealing and it sure as hell aint durable.

A reputable trim carpentar should be able to on-site build cabinets for far less than 30K.

I've been looking into redoing my kitchen and bathroom cabinets myself. If money is an issue and your existing cabinets are structurally sound, then I think you might get more bang for the buck if you reface your cabinets instead. Basically, you'll be putting on your preferred wooden veneer on the structure of the cabinets and getting new cabinet doors. This should save you a bundle, and the work is a bit less intrusive. Here are some instructions on how to do it:

Are they basic cabinets or do they have some kind of ornamental look to them?
