Bulls had 79-44 with about 9 min left in 3rd AT HOME. THEY LOST...102-98 to Sac Town AMAZING!!! Del Negro is on life support and the Bulls have to be about ready to break up that team. http://www.nbahoopsonline.com/History/Records/comebacks.html
That's unbelievable. Congrats to the Kings and my, oh my, are the Bulls a trainwreck. 33-10 4th quarter?! Who gets fired first: Nelson or Del Negro?
Why is Sacramento starting Evans and Nocioni in the backcourt? I don't get that. Nocioni was a -28 in this game, and Udrih was a +14. Before this game, 82games.com shows Nocioni as a -6 (per 100 possessions) and Udrih is a +4. Westphal must have a good reason for keeping Udrih on the bench, but an Udrih-Evans backcourt just makes more sense to me. He's played really well this year.
I'm watching the replay now. I started when it was 81-48 Bulls. Announcers were talking about resting players because they have a back-to-back, taking the Kings to the woodshed and Joakim Noah slams home and alley-oop to make it 83-50.
Saw the whole thing. I wanted to turn it off but I had a feeling. So glad I did not. The Kings won this game because of one man: Jon Brockman. You guys may not know who he is but he is the Kings version of Chuck Hayes. Pure hustle.
Very nice, I've always respected the Kings, because of how exciting style of play they played in, back in 2002, and because they have one of the best fans for an NBA team today. Their future looks plenty bright.
I saw that too but I checked a few sources and they said it tied the Jazz game in 96. Here is wiki and while not always accurate it matches all the other sites I went to. Largest second half comeback in a game 35 points - The Utah Jazz made history on November 27, 1996 by overcoming a 34-point halftime deficit to beat the Denver Nuggets, 107-103. Their biggest deficit was 35, making it the largest overall comeback ever. 35 points - The Sacramento Kings trailed by 35 points, 44-79 with 8:50 remaining in the third quarter of a game at the Chicago Bulls on December 21, 2009. The Kings rallied to win the game 102-98. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/NBA_records
From when I started watching, the Kings outscored the Bulls 21-7 the last 8 minutes of the 3rd quarter, but they weren't impressive until about the last 90 seconds. The Bulls just couldn't buy a basket and were playing the score. Only the last few possessions, the Kings started running the ball and playing with focus. I saw the first quarter live and the Bulls shot the ball so well they would have been leading the Dream Team. It was crazy.
The first 6 minutes of the 4th quarter featured more patheticness by both teams. It's 90% Bulls collapse vs. 10% inspired Kings play so far. There is no sign the Kings have enough in the tank to win. They committed what seemed like 8 fouls in the first 4 minutes of the quarter and continue to turn the ball over but will still pull it out somehow.
