Killer, Rapist to Be Thrown Off Cliff in Sack Thu Jul 18,10:44 AM ET TEHRAN (Reuters) - An Iranian man, convicted for raping and killing his 16-year-old nephew, will be executed by being thrown off a cliff in a sack, a newspaper reported on Thursday. If the unnamed man survives the fall down a rocky precipice, he will be hanged, legal experts said. He has 20 days to appeal the court sentence. The killer was arrested last year in the northwestern city of Mashhad after "seducing" and killing his nephew, who worked as an assistant at the man's carpenter's workshop, the Norouz daily newspaper said. Under Iran's Islamic law, applied since the 1979 revolution, pederasty, homosexuality and adultery are among a long list of crimes punishable by death.
Can we get a petition going to have Texas adopt that execution method. I love it. If so, where can I get an application to be the guy who throws him off?
Did he rape his nephew before or after he killed him? If he did it after, eww... No wonder they're throwing him off a cliff. It doesn't really matter, I guess.
i don't see a difference. he raped his freakin' nephew!!!!!!! i don't care if the poor child was alive or dead! my god the horror! i like this law... i like it a lot! i just wish the sack was see through so that the b*stard could see his fall!
LOL. I was born in Iran. Moved to the states when I was 2. I have never heard of such an execution. Cant wait to tell my parents about this one. Thats a great way to punish wrong doers. I just disagree with one minor thing. If he survives the fall, they should take him back up and do it again and again until he dies. It doesnt really matter though, as long as he's long gone by the end of the execution.
Hehe... I like that idea better as well. And even if he looks dead, they can throw him over a couple more times to make sure.
I know you all are having fun with this unusual story, but how many of you would really endorse this kind of punishment in the U.S. for like crimes?
I have absolutely no sympathy for rapist, murderers and especially child molesters. The stricter and crueler the punishment for these a-holes the better. I would endorse this type of law for child molesters in a second. I would also endorse doing other things to these sickos before rolling them off the cliff as well.
I don't see what the point is of throwing him off a cliff in a bag. He is going to die instantly. They might as well make his death a little more civilized. Instead they have made his execution into world news headlines. And to the sickos: Revenge and torture isn't part of the justice system. That kind of thing doesn't have a place in the United States, or any other nation that considers themselves civilized.

Woman is accused of infidelity, put her to death. Man accused of associating with woman outside his class, order his sister gang-raped. Makes total sense.
