First of all I am not starting this thread to bash Tmac or Yao or the bench player. I am starting this thread purely to express my feelings as to why we are loosing... I just feel that all the great teams have a player having that kind of killer instinct. When they step onto the court, the look in their eyes, their swagger, the feeling that they give to their peers and opponents that no-one or no-team is going to stop them from getting what they want. MJ, Kobe, AI and even LJames. I do not feel that it have to be their best players, but a player who can provide leadership. For some reason I see that kind of killer instinct from Daron Williams. The look in his eyes gives me a sense of fear, a sense that he is hungry. In tight situations, it seems that he is the one on the Jazz's team who provides the leadership, the one who boozers or okur look to for confidence. I do not see this in any player on this Rockets team. Tmac, Yao, Battier....whoever. I guess this is the importance of Sura that everyone on this board is talking about. I dun know if it can be taught, but if the rockets want to go far into the playoffs this years, someone on this team better develop it fast... And personally for me, this is the reason why we lost the last two games
I agree with you,but sometimes if you look carefully,Tmac has the killer instict..when he's feeeling it. It sucks that he doesnt have it ALL the time, dont get me wrong,he is still my favourite athlete in the world, but when he gets it going...the rest of the team gets it going too. You know why?its that same killer instict you're talking about. I just saw the post-game interview on nba.com and,he said that if kirilenko was not guarding him, whenever he drove, andrei would always come from the waek side. This made me think,if hes always coming from the weakside, why not just have battier in the opposite corner, moving around to keep andrei distracted, then tmac should drive and finish off..and then if kirilenko does come to him, tracy should dish it out to an open battier. He knocked down a few threes late in the game(shane). So i guess he's finally broken that barrier. I always said the rockets were gonna win in 6..so 2 losses were necessary LETS GO HOUSTON!
yea tmac has that killer instinct but only sometimes. he needs to dust off his super nintendo, plug killer instinct in, and remind himself what its like. cos if he doesnt get some himself, that's all he's going to be doing; playing videogames instead of basketball. i love tmac but dude needs to be called out. i don't care if the rockets are down by 20, play with some fire and some passion. its like he just doesnt believe, and if he doesn't believe how does he expect anyone else to believe in him. the biggest clue to tmac's mental toughness is the fact that we always hear him talking about what he wants to do, or why he's never won. the talk about how he never felt his previous teams could win: that is some WEAK SAUCE. i guarantee you'll never hear kobe or duncan or ai or effin steve francis, anybody with heart, complain that he doesn't feel like his team was talented enough and didn't believe they can win. that's just an excuse. don't make them tmac. man up and believe in yourself; you can win anytime you want. just stop acting like you've never had a real shot. even if its true, be a man and believe that you could take the atlanta hawks to the championship if you wanted.
