I guess he won't be able to help recruit LBJ to the Knicks.

Not sure where Cuban's obsession with Kidd comes from. 3 years @ 25mill? Wow

9 points/8.7 assists/6.7 boards/2 steals all sounds good but Kidd's already 36 and he's gonna be damn near 40 years old by the time that contract ends. It's not like the Mavs are going anywhere.

I guess Cuban feels like the Mavs would completely fall apart without Jason Kidd.

Cuban probably thinks if he left then the Kidd trade would be a COMPLETE bust rather then the joke it is now...

I think Kidd will be Stockton-like in his ability to be effective even at an old age.

Wow, roughly 8 million a year for three years. Kidd still has game but not at that value.

Kidd still outsells Devin Harris when it comes to jerseys and tickets.

Mavs are going to be an expensive team for Cuban to keep up with, without actually getting any better.

Kidd's had his best 2 career shooting years with Dallas surprisingly. Though at the same time he's become a really reluctant shooter. You could say he should shoot more, though I think he doesn't cuz it'll wear him down (doesnt got to the line much anymore) and it'll take away from the rest his floor game. He can still rebound and pass and get steals with any other point guard in the league. 8 mil a year doesnt look as bad on 2nd glance, considering he made 20 mil last season

Mavs would still be a competitive team. Will/Can Kidd lead this team? Can He still produce nightly and prove that He deserves that amount or was Cuban suckered into signing Kidd at that rate to avoid Kidd from leaving?

Because Bill Duffy didn't/doesn't like Cuban and couldn't wait to get Nash out of Dallas.

No, Cuban had the opportunity to bid higher on the phone but he admitted in an interview that he felt Nash wasn't worth that kind of salary back then.

Good sign for the Mavs imo.

They need to make something happen on the trade front though, AND QUICKLY....

Does Cuban honestly think his team has a chance next season? All I see is another first round knock out and Dirk aging another year.

If Cuban remains a NBA owner, he's going to go broke by all his dumb acquisitions...
