No, he's not awesome. He's a complete idiot.

He's a juvenile delinquent turned criminal putting lives at risk and wasting valuable resources.

I can understand why some are fascinated with the story but that's because they're viewing the situation from afar, as if it isn't real. They aren't the victims he's stolen from or the authorities that are being forced to spend time looking for him instead of helping other people.

What if he crashes one of those planes into a house or an apartment and kills innocent people?

Would that be awesome? I thought not. Grow up.

I think the kid is hilarious and the story is awesome.. I'm not condoning his actions but it is baffling and quite frankly embarrassing that he is running circles around the local and state police. To be honest, I hope this thing comes to an end soon and no one ends up killed or hurt.

BTW, You are one to tell me to grow up?

Fair enough but that should clearly be interpreted as a joke, even if it isn't considered funny to most people. Maybe I went too far with that one. I never said it would be awesome to beat up Bob Costas.

There are plenty of comedians that make jokes far worse than that on a regular basis. Watch the next Comedy Central roast or half of the stand-up routines on TV everyday. You'll hear stuff coming out of adults' mouths far more vulgar than "I think I could kick Bob Costas' ass."

This, on the other hand, is a real story about a person committing crimes - not a harmless comment on an internet message board. I would never actually fight Bob Costas or condone anybody doing that.

How does an 18-year old evade the police and steal four planes for so long?

Kid is not awesome. Kid is a major douchebag and when he does get caught, he's going to take it up the ass in prison.

He is probably getting some help, the terrain he is hiding out in isn't that easy and the police probably aren't devoting every possible resource to find him. Keep in mind a lot of criminals are caught because they make mistakes or are turned in by someone they know, Eric Rudolph (the Oympic Park bomber) and Ted Kaczynski (the Unabomber) wouldn't have been caught without being turned in. The two DC Snipers wouldn't have been caught if not for giving tips to the police tip line themselves.

So you are saying that he spray paints his stolen cars, or that he runs inside his house and saves?

He's an adult now, so the Feds won't have to ask his parents for permission to waterboard.
