    good for everyone involved.

and f the guy shooting the video. I don't care what you think there is to do or not do.. put down the camera and be available to help.

And then when they're looking for water and for a knife? "HURRY! GET A KNIFE! THERE'S A BABY IN THERE!" Ridiculous..

reminds me of the Seinfeld where they videotaped the guy getting mugged...except this guy was the real thing

What more could he have done? It looked like there were 15-20 people doing everything that could be done.

doesn't matter. you never know what might be needed, what might happen in an instant. Like the guy said at the end, a few seconds may have saved the kids life. And you aren't available to help cause you're using a damn video camera?

How about when they needed a knife? Everyone run to different houses and see who can come back with one first.

When they needed water, go in a direction different from the lady getting the hose, maybe you can get there quicker. Or go with her and help her unravel it. Or go to a house and get a pitcher. Or go make sure traffic is stopped down the street.

FIND something, or wait to be directed by the 2 firefighters. Anything besides standing there like a moron and when people need things, start yelling "HURRY!"

I'm all messed up right now, shaking and crying. I can't help but to think about my kids and what it must have been like for those at that scene. That was one of the most intense videos that I've ever seen.

What else could have been done though at the moment? I'll bet if we was needed then he would have dropped the camera and assisted in doing whatever he needed to do. There are several other people just standing around too and I also saw several cars pass by as well. Why just point out the camera man? Could these other people not have made themselves available too?

people standing around ARE making themselves available by at least being there and not doing something else. I don't think he would have dropped the camera. If that was the case, when he heard they needed a knife or water, he would have dropped the camera and tried to do something (or maybe tried asking people--did you check that house? Let me do this.)

Cars passing by is another issue imo. I think it sucks that it happens, but at least they're not actually there. Maybe they have something more pressing to tend to (though obviously that is a rare case), maybe they don't realize what's happening, or maybe they don't want to get involved. The last one esp. isn't a good excuse.

This guy is ACTIVELY in the situation by his own volition, and watching it unfold, yet he is ACTIVELY doing something else that is making himself unavailable/less available to help. If nothing else, get the f out of the way--WAY out of the way--if you're gonna make sure and do nothing useful

From his voice, he sounds kind of like an older and possibly obese guy. I don't think we needed a 2nd emergency of him having a heart attack while running a few yards back to his house to get a knife or a wet towel or something.

That video had me on the edge of my seat. There were more than enough folks trying to help.

If the two off duty firefighters wasn't there. It would've been a different story. Good job.

One question. Does burning cars actually blow up when on fire or the movies or tv shows just trying to make it look cool?

Sure they do... when the fire hits the oil in the engine and the gas tank... that baby will explode... depends on how much gas and stuff you have in there though.

The reason I ask because I see people are standing around and not going near the burning vehicles because they think it might explode like hollywood style. If people were more educated about this then there would've been more help and the rescue would be much faster.

You did hear a small explosion at the end of the video, though not a huge Hollywood fireball.

They can blow up but they do not blow up as easily as the movies and television would like us to believe.
