I'm really glad some people are bringing up Hepatitis C. This is a really debilitating disease that is completely underappreciated by our society. In reality, HepC is a much worse disease to contract than HIV. (believe it or not) While HIV can be adequately managed through proper meds, hepC cannot. In fact the avg. life span of someone with HIV can be nearly normal/average. On the other hand, hepC (when progressing to cirrhosis) is almost universally fatal.
