What is your general understanding of a kicked-ball call in basketball for a recreational game with no official rules? My understanding is that intentional contact with the leg is only ruled a kicked ball if that contact is below the knee-- because you can easily extend that part of your leg to block a ball. Otherwise you have a legal deflection of a pass if contact is made on the knee or above.
Problem is "intentional" is relative and open to official interpretation. I've seen all kinds of weird kick ball calls, from a guy throwing a bad bounce pass off my leg and I hadn't even moved, to the ball being batted down to the court, hitting someone's foot, and rolling out of bounds. Officials suck.
