    Quote from ESPN.COM article:

"Iverson, whose dazzling play and bad-boy image have made him enormously popular with young people, has had other brushes with the law. As a teenager, he was arrested in a Hampton, Va., bowling alley brawl in 1993 and spent four months in prison before then-Gov. Douglas Wilder granted clemency. The conviction was overturned on appeal in 1995. In 1997, Iverson pleaded no contest to a gun charge after police near Richmond, Va., stopped a car in which he was a passenger and found a gun belonging to Iverson and two mar1juana cigarettes. A mar1juana-possession charge was dropped. Iverson completed 100 hours of community service, two years of drug testing and three years' probation, after which his record was expunged."

I think The 76ers and NBA should kick this fool out of the league. He's a punk and doesn't deserve his fame and fortune if he's not going to act no different than a disrespectful menace to society gangmember.
How kids today think his image is cool scares the hell out of me. My son will NEVER idolize a piece of **** like that. Tupac acted the same and died, oh well!! These punks live lives full of money and rewards, then die early. I'd be suprised if Iverson makes it to 40 and you what? Who the hell cares. The world would be a better place without Allen Iverson!!

I hope he goes to jail and ruins his NBA career. And I hope a lot of kids are paying attention when he does.

Are you sure about that? ;)

Anyways, 2Pac was not suppose to be a role model to millions of kids. AI is. Little children always look to an athlete, and Iverson is the anti-role model.

He's not a good role model but he's good for the NBA, just like D. Rodman was. You don't kick one of the more talented players out of the league. There are many players in the NBA, that aren't worth a ****. Iverson is just one of many.

How is his actions good for the league? Just because he is a good player doesn't mean he is good for the NBA.

He is no different than OJ, another rich athelete that will get away with murder (in OJ's case, literally!)

I don't think there are "many" players who aren't worth **** as you put it. Let's see, there's Iverson, Patterson, and Dewhawn Stevenson. That's 3 active players out of a couple hundred. When you say many, you make it seem like the league is run amuck or something.

He should have been in practice and none of this would have happened that sucks, but since he was the MVP 2 year ago he does not have to go to practice.

Iverson just go to jail now, and if not, try to rebuild your image once again.

    It maybe too late.

This guy seems so self-destructive. Two years ago, he cleans up his act by becoming professional and the Sixers make it to the NBA finals.

The following year, he lapses into his old ways and it's controversy, early exit from the playoffs, and offseason trouble again.

Don't you wish you had his talent with your brain!

What do you expect? Your country is full of ghetto's. Area's where diadvantaged people, people without money and security, have to fight to survive. Most of them don't make it.

Every now and then, a guy gets out because of one thing...athletic ability.

Then you all act like the fabric of what he had to become to survive should change just because he now has money.

Nothing as a kid. No two parent support. Little education. What do you expect?

Don't sit behind your middle class desks and complain. If your so upset about people "like him" get off your asses and try and clean up your welfare system.

For a "world leader", you have area's people live in that are FAR worse + more dangerous than the third world...

Since we don't have the full story, it's hard to say anything about the situation. I don't condone violence and if he did something wrong then he should be convicted. If not, this talk is just that talk and is unwarranted at this time. Let the courts and the NBA decide what they will do with Iverson.

That would probably be a better post after Stern and Co may a decision about Iverson fate if he is convicted.

Iverson grow up in Hampton, VA (a small town in southern Virginia), I think. Anyone seen the ghettoes there? Anyone know if they have ghettoes there.

You guys are looking at AI's hairdo and jumping to conclusions. That lifestyle is adopted.

He now lives in suburban Philly, of course. Can't say what his future residence will be.
