The first trailer from this movie had quite a few of you saying it looked like Sky High or something: http://bbs.clutchfans.net/showthread.php?t=177018&highlight=kick-ass <object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/CjO7kBqTFqo&color1=0xb1b1b1&color2=0xcfcfcf&hl=en_US&feature=player_embedded&fs=1"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowScriptAccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/CjO7kBqTFqo&color1=0xb1b1b1&color2=0xcfcfcf&hl=en_US&feature=player_embedded&fs=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowfullscreen="true" allowScriptAccess="always" width="425" height="344"></embed></object> If it gets pulled from youtube, you can watch it here but it has one of those age restriction things that always works for me but I hear a lot of people complain about for some reason: <img style="visibility:hidden;width:0px;height:0px;" border=0 width=0 height=0 src="http://counters.gigya.com/wildfire/IMP/CXNID=2000002.0NXC/bT*xJmx*PTEyNjE1MDIyNjY*NTMmcHQ9MTI2MTUwMjI3MjEwOSZwPTk4MzQ5MiZkPSZnPTMmbz1iOTQ1MDYzYTY2YmU*ZjNhOWU5MjRmMGEyMDNhZmZjMiZvZj*w.gif" /><object classid="clsid:d27cdb6e-ae6d-11cf-96b8-444553540000" codebase="http://download.macromedia.com/pub/shockwave/cabs/flash/swflash.cab#version=9,0,0,0" width="530" height="400" id="kickass-widget" align="middle"><param name="allowScriptAccess" value="always" /><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true" /><param name="wmode" value="transparent" /><param name="movie" value="http://kickass-themovie.com/redband/kickass-widget.swf?xmlURL=http://kickass-themovie.com/redband/xml/kickass-widget.xml" /><param name="quality" value="high" /><param name="bgcolor" value="#FFFFFF" /><embed src="http://kickass-themovie.com/redband/kickass-widget.swf?xmlURL=http://kickass-themovie.com/redband/xml/kickass-widget.xml" quality="high" bgcolor="#FFFFFF" width="530" height="400" name="kickass-widget" wmode="transparent" align="middle" allowScriptAccess="always" allowFullScreen="true" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" pluginspage="http://adobe.com/go/getflashplayer" FlashVars="gig_lt=1261502266453&gig_pt=1261502272109&gig_g=3"/> <param name="FlashVars" value="gig_lt=1261502266453&gig_pt=1261502272109&gig_g=3" /></object>
Yay! Little girls! They're not only in violent movies, but saying curse words that would make a sailor blush... whoop dee doo! Let's take the family to watch it! Wow, what money-hungry executives won't do... for money...? Have fun, teenagers. MERGE: http://bbs.clutchfans.net/showthread.php?t=178761
Yeah, because rated R violent movies make the most money.... It takes a movie exec with balls to not get in the way and water this down. I was going to make a joke about how you'd react to this, but I changed my mind at the last second because I thought you were just in a mood last time. It's a big freaking world and there's room for all kinds of movies Swoly, nobody says you have to watch this, you can take your kids to Shrek 4 (a 4th Shrek movie, that's the work of money hungry execs Swoly, at least try and level some accurate criticism).
^ Well, good. So it's an adaptation of a comic... good. Oski2005, that's correct, man, but in a 4th Shrek, I don't think we'll have Donkey's little dragon-winged kids calling Fiona "yo* c*nt", now will we? She's a little girl, man. Come now, man, I am not saying "no one should watch this"...
Words aren't the worse thing in the world, she's an actress, and you are on the internet so you know kids that age are saying and seeing way worse.
I was just pointing out that it's not some random idea thought that execs put together. The comic is pretty extreme from what I hear so I'm sure surprised the film looks to stay pretty true to the source.
*Ignoring Swoly's crap* I am totally stoked to see this. From what I have read the action sequences are intense and very well done plus the movie is supposed to be pretty damn funny as well. I know nothing about the comic, but I am as excited for this as I am Clash of the Titans or Iron Man 2.
Oski2005, the kids that say "worse" than that, without getting paid to be on the big screen are the same ones crowding up our jails in a few years and the ones for which you will pay MORE taxes. If you're OK with that, then, it's up to you. I am just speaking out against these "true-to-the-story" movies... c'mon, now, she's a little girl. I guess as long as "it's not me and it's a movie", is fine to support these principles, huh? Cool.
...omfg... Really man??? I've been cursing up a storm since elementary school and my little sister picked it right up from me probably in 3rd grade... I can assure you, 15 years later, we both turned out just fine and won't be crowding up your jails anytime soon. We're two perfectly normal, well adjusted, successful, college grads. (... And of course we both can't wait to see this movie!! Looks awesome.)
This has been Swoly-D's distorted view of reality. Join us next time when Swoly explains why smoking will eventually lead to mass homicide.
^ If little girls are doing it in a movie, probably. Other kids will think it's OK. Good for you and your little sister that you're not in jail. Bad to be cursing around your little sister, though; it is not a good thing. I'm hoping that what someone pointed out as "worse" is not how you were speaking in front of your little sister.
i agree that swolys wrong. but how can anyone really be excited for this? it looks like utter crap. if it wasnt for the language and gore this follows suit with most other disney spy kid movies, cheesy bull ****. "im hit girl"
Another Swoly dethread. Good job. Now all we need is for Ronny to come in here and tell us that his demographical study of American culture explains that only strong, willed white girls can become killers for hire. There are exceptions of course but he has proof that this is a fact for about 94% of the population.
But the point of the little anecdote was not to let people know how awesome we are, but to say that I'm quite sure we're the rule and not the exception... I'm sure there's also plenty of folks in jail that were overly sheltered and emotionally surpressed until they snapped... Why was it bad? Just cause someone knows the words doesn't mean they aren't aware/responsible enough to not go spout them out in public or social situations, even as a child. And what's considered "worse" really? I must say that our current favorite lable for someone we don't care for is "c unt-asaurus-rex" so you can take that for what it's worth...
