    wonderig if anyone on here has any experience with the new kia sportage?

    I am kind of broke...so can't really get a decent car. the Kia sportage suv seemed like a decent car for the price.

    so was wondering if anyone on here has any experience with the model or the brand.

    thanx

    Junk. But if you're only planning on having it for 3 years then trade it in before it starts giving you problems then you should be good.

    Kia = TRASH.

    Like the above poster said. Kia's will literally fall apart on your after a few years.

    Kias were junk vehicles a few years ago, but they've improved after Hyundai took them over. Still not sure I would buy one. If you're broke, consider the repairs you may have to make. Check out Kia forums if you want to hear from people who own Kias.

    Most of the stuff I have read online says they keep improving their reliability, especially over the last few years. I will be looking to purchase a new vehicle over the next 12 months and I have not dismissed any brands from my search except high-end luxury brands. Kias also come with a pretty significant warranty package which to me says they're at least OK because a company doesn't want to constantly be repairing their vehicles.The biggest problems I have read about online have been with chipped paint and frequent light bulb replacements. I also think with vehicles, as with any major purchase, a lot of it has to do with luck.

    I'm an owner of a Kia Forte and I have yet to have any problems with the car. I was very reluctant to buy a Kia but I have to say they have really picked up their game in the last few years. It's not the Kia's we need back then...

    Kia vehicles are not junk. My parents have had a Kia sportage for about 4 years and they couldn't be happier. The new Sportage was reviewed in the March issue of Consumer Reports and it got a pretty good review. Kia vehicles come with a long warranty and I wouldn't be concerned about it falling apart.

    Hondas have steadily been losing market share for at least a year now, have some of the worst designs of autos (of course that's opinion) and have even been getting lower and lower ratings according to an article I read recently. I will try to find it. Of course you can also find an article that says the exact opposite too. ;)

    Kias are pretty decent these days, actually. I'd probably buy a Kia before I bought a Chevy. But they still carry a stigma of being the cheapest POS cars on the market. If it's going to bother you that your car screams "BROKE ASS" to everyone who sees it, do yourself a favor and don't buy one. I can't really think of a good reason to buy a brand-new Kia, as it's not exactly going to impress anybody. You can probably get a very nice, clean used car for the same money at Carmax.

    Nope...I actually drive a........

    .....Suzuki.:grin:

    Seriously, though, Suzuki is in the same boat as Kia, albeit on a different scale. They're trying to become at least somewhat relative here in the US. I drive an SX4 Crossover. I haven't had any problems with it. The Suzuki Kizashi is an excellent car, and has gotten excellent reviews. Suzuki offers a 100,000 mile or 7 year power train warranty, to boot.

    At a comparable price, why not pick up the Hyundai Tucson?

    Get a car loan from your bank, buy something very slightly used. Use the chart posted by Acedude as a rule of thumb.
