    Dude. The thread title seems like he's going to... you know... :(

    Truly will be missed. :) Also, I wonder if he will continue to do the weather for the Astros during the game...?

    That's sad. His family went to my old church and I met him a few times. He's a very recognizable figure here in Houston but he seems completely down to earth.

    I will have to tune in tonight.

    I remember watching the Channel 11 news, probably over 10 years ago, but they did a segment on physically challeged kids and when the story was over, they cut to him to announce the weather is coming up next...

    There he was laughing at the kids, then he got real serious...busted...Always thought he was a douche after that...

    Is the next weather person hot?

    So we can look foward to him scaring the crap out of the whole city (like he did with Rita) the next time a tropical depression enters the Gulf.

    Wasn't Rita the first hurricane in the Gulf after Katrina? That might have played a part in scaring the crap outta people.

    I'm referring to one episode I saw the night Rita was supposed to make landfall. By this time, it was common knowledge that it was going to hit at the TX/LA border instead of Houston. The 3 other local weathermen were saying as much, and so was Frank.

    But while he was tracking it on satelite, it was moving a TINY bit from side to side. Apparently, this is a common phenomenon and the other 3 weathermen mentioned it and said not to be alarmed.

    But not Dr Neil Frank. He said something to the effect of "but it's this shift to the East that concerns me..." and then started talking about how there was still a chance it could shift to the East and make landfall in Houston.

    Just left a bad taste in my mouth, but whatever.

    They already replaced Dr. Neil Frank with Gene Norman. Gene has been on Channel 11 for a few months now. He came from Atlanta, but used to be a meteorologist in Houston at ABC Channel 13 in the 90s.
