Except KG will be a lot wealthier.

Earning 200 million dollars over a career is a good trade for silently suffering...

not if you're like kg, he'd rather win than be paid. stephen a smith said it best, he's rich but "plays every night like he's broke".

He could have re-done his 100M+ contract years ago to allow the team to sign some good players if he'd really rather win than be paid.

How exactly could he have re-done his contract? Since the NBA CBA doesn't allow that, I'm confused as to how exactly he would have been able to pull that one off.

No he's not. I love KG, but do you remember Dominque? He was ridiculous. They played different positions and had very different styles of play so it's difficult to compare them, but I'd say Dominique was every bit as good as KG.

"KG's body language, especially after Peja Stojakovic's game-winning three, makes him seem almost resigned to his fate, like an unhappy husband who can't stomach the thought of a divorce because he doesn't want to hurt his children."

    funny and sad

Easy wasn't thinking. I understand where he's coming from, but he just didn't know enough about how the NBA works. No biggie.

So yeah, um, Minne sucks. Their management sucks, but actually had a decent off-season signing Mike James, in my opinion. And a lot of people say Randy Foye is going to be a star (I don't know about this...they should have taken Brandon Roy imo). But their management has sucked overall.

And their coach sucks big time...I mean big time. As inflexible as Jeff Van Gundy is, we Rockets fans really under appreciate him. Jeff Van Gundy would turn the T-Wolves into a 50 win team in my opinion.

The T-Wolves are athletic, but don't defend, rebound, or run well. They have don't have a set rotation of big minute players. Their 2 best backcourt players are Mike James and Troy Hudson (best in the sense of performance so far this year), and those 2 just take minutes from each other. While James and Hudson shoot 39.3% and 39.1% from 3pt land respectively, the Wolves as a team shoots 29% because their coach lets Ricky Davis and Trenton Hassell jack up shots they should never be taking. Their coach is just bad. When you come out of a timeout to run a play for Eddie Griffin in the post in crunch time of a close game, you should just quit right there.

They just need a new coach to show KG how to be productive without working so hard. Sam Cassell made life so much easier for KG not only because of Cassell's scoring, but Cassell was a freakin floor general. James can score, but is totally reigning his game in (contrary to his "selfish" image that people like to label him with), and in my opinion needs to play 35 to 36 minutes a game (instead of 30) and really take a bigger role in the offense. They just need to trash Ricky Davis and roll with a Hudson/James backcourt, KG, Blount, Jaric/Smith front court, and sparingly rotate in Hassell, EG, and Foye.

I certainly don't hold it against him that his most recent extension pays him approximately 20 million a year (which, btw, was less than the maximum he could have demanded), but the label "he'd rather win than be paid" should probably be reserved for a player who hasn't spent most of his career with one of highest salaries in the league....

    That makes no sense.

I'd do my job for free. I mean that. Just because I get paid 14 cents a week to do my job, it doesn't mean I'm not sincere in pointing out that I'd do the job for free.

I remember Dominique from both Georgia and the Hawks. He was sick athletically and loved to show it off. In his day, he was one of my favorite players in the NBA to watch. But I put KG a notch above him. To each his own.

I put KG about 12 notches above him. Insane Man, I've seen KG hit more than his fair share of game-deciding buckets and FTs. Topping that, the man held together that Minnesota defense for years -- essentially the lone guy in Flip's zone, making up for Brandon/Wally/Joe Smith/Reggie Slater/whatever else while STILL pulling in 12-13 boards.

12 notches is a bit much. wilkins was a 6-7 small forward and he got his 6 boards a game. he still managed 25 points a game for his career and some seasons going 30 and 6. that's pretty sick itself. I don't what you sportswriters have against the guy. sure he never got over jordan and bird, but who did. and in the case of bird, wilkins played on a nice team with rivers, rollins, and kevin willis, but that was no mchale, and dennis johnson, and bill walton, and danny ainge.
