Texans | Team interested in acquiring another first round choice
    Thu, 27 Apr 2006 12:05:30 -0700

John Clayton, of ESPN.com, reports the Houston Texans, who own the first pick of the second round, are interested in trading up and may have a potential partner in the Chicago Bears. The Bears own the No. 26 pick and may be interested in trading down.

There is going to be a run on CB's towards the end of the 1st round and if we don't trade up we might not get one.

That's my guess on who we are moving up for. It's okay as long as we don't give away our 2nd, 3rd, and 4th to do it.

Who's going to be this year's version of Jason Babin for Charlie? IE - giving up multiple later picks to move up, to take a guy that probably wasn't going to be a first rounder anyways.

If he does this again, Charlie sure is gullible.

i think swapping our 2nd third for their third should move us up 7 spots or swapping 4th's preferably.

Just remember, the last time Casserly got an extra 1st rounder, we got Jason Babin.

    Don't do it Casserly.

I'd rather take our chances on a CB falling to us, and if not grab an OT. Mike Flanagan is not the answer to all of our o-line problems.

If we do trade up, it better be a draft day trade and not something before...you never know what can happen. No sense in wasting picks if our guy could be there at 33.

Some stud will fall out of the first round...no need to lose a pick to move up a few spots. I will break my tv if that happens.

I was hoping that we could get Youboty from Ohio State, but he won't be around by the 3rd round.

We need a CB in a bad way.

Casserly will resign after the draft. He's a lameduck, with virtually no power. The Texans may trade back into the first round, but it won't be Casserly's choice, it will be up to Kubiak and his staff.

if the Texans had the ability to get bush and Mario Williams, that would be so sick.

I've seen him as late 1st / early 2nd in most mocks. The video of him on Yahoo sports is amazing  I wouldn't mind the Texans picking him at all (even if it does require a trade up).

I hope if we get that second first round pick we can get a player like Jimmy Williams because our secondary is a joke. Williams could play either FS or CB

i would only trade up for a good CB that is worth it like tye hill, joesph, or youboty (played at klein hs) or a good solid OLB like Bobby Carpenter

I'd rather keep our #33 pick plus the two 3rd rounders we have. Pick up Winston w/ the #33 pick, and hopefully Cedric Griffin will drop to the 3rd.

I hope CC doesn't screw this up again.

If Casserly is really gone after the draft, what makes you guys think he has a large role in the decision making process?

I'm guessing it's all Kubiak's call (if Reeves is still with the team in some capacity, them him as well) and Charlie is just there to pick up the phone and say "HEY! That pick you got there, how would you uhhhhhhh like to trade it to us...OK?"
