Maybe this doesnt deserve its own thread but here I go. Tmac has got to get his teamates involved early. I like when he coasts during the first half and sits a lot of minutes. If the rockets can stay in the game with tmac resting 6-8 minutes in the first half, he will come firing back to start the second. By that time his teamates will be in the flow of things and will also be valuable offensive weapons. By this I mean passing and getting those easy shot to his teamates. The 3rd quarter is his and if necessary so is the 4th. THe only bad thing is that Bonzi is out which will mean more time for tmac to play. As we saw in the last game Tmac cannot beat the best team in the NBA alone, which makes sense, so if he gets his team running on all cylinders he can light it up in the second half, since he seems to have an on and off switch at time (or so he claims "i imposed my will...")
Yeah, he's got to involve everyone early, which I think he will. The Rox know that the Mavs will be doubling Mac, so he will be ready. I think Mac will have a great game because he is really playing excellent ball as of late. Does anyone have any status on Kirk, we could really use him to match up tonight against the likes of George, Stack , Howard. We need the size tonight with Bonzi out to help out an undersized luther.
I agree, when we go small the abscence of BOnzi will hurt, that guy is one of the best rebounding 2 guards or whatever position he is. He would really make it a lot easier for Tmac to get some rest. And we have to stop or contain either josh howard or terry. if all three (terry, dirk and howard) go off its over. if two of the 3 stars do good i think we can weather it.
t-MAC DID HAVE THE PROBLEM THAT SHOOT TOO MUCH AT 1ST Q. THINK last time and 7th game in 04-05 playoff.
This is my first time to post. I am a lonely Rocket fan in Palm Springs, CA. So, it is good to have some fellow Rockets fits to coverse with. I don't know how much I have to add to this particular thread, but loosing Bonzi for the night hurts in a big way. I'm not sure that the Rockets were going to beat the Mavs because of Bonzi anyway. If the Rockets are going to win, it is going to come down to the intangibles. We need the Mavs to overlook us a bit and for the Rockets to play with something to prove. We need T-Mac to simply be better than anyone on the floor and we need to answer every surge of the Mavericks. They can overwhelm you with their depth. They just keep it pouring on. On the other hand, no one wins them all. The Mavs are ripe for a home loss, and I just have a feeling the Rockets will own the Mavs tonight.
Welcome!!! As a person who has no friends that are true rockets fans, I dont know what id do without this site. Im sure you'll enjoy it as much as all of us and soon you too will be addicted
I agree they are due for a home loss. The keys tonight will be bench production and rebounding. The Rockets will not match the Mav's bench especially without Bonzi, but Head has got to come up big in this game and maybe get something from Novak or Snyder. God I just realized without Bonzi we have no bench. Rebounds the Rockets gave up way to many second and third chance points against the Mavs. They always kill us with their offensive rebounding. Rockets play great D and than they get two or three chances to score anyways. Tonight Mavs get one chance and then they are on their heels running down the court to play D. JVG may want to stay with Deke even if they go small just because he's our best defense in the middle and our best rebounder.
Rockets gave up 15 offensive boards last game. Erica got 6 by himself. Rockets must control the boards tonight and keep the Dallas bench scrubs in check to have a chance.
I'm going to go with outrebound the Mavs. We got pwned on the boards last game. We also need to play "Houston D". I want see us hold them to 40%.
