http://espn.go.com/nba/dailydime/_/page/dime-130122/daily-dime He was also great with the Rockets but now he's in OKC and getting a lot of love. Well deserved! It goes to show that consistent minutes and a role a guy is happy with go a long way.
I wouldn't say he was great with the Rockets.. he was a good player I guess. Everyone always said he would be a great 2nd or 3rd option on a team, and he's filling that role perfectly!
good to see him succeeding. he's a great player for the right system. if yao stayed healthy he would have been awesome here.
Along that note. Fined 5K for flopping. 100% agree that this should be fined. But there are a lot of deserving players that haven't even been warned.
I agree, but it wasn't because it wasn't pretty. It was just annoying imo. It's like he played basketball just to get a foul.. I understand Harden tries to draw fouls as well, but he's still trying to score an actual basket. I always felt like Martin was focusing on drawing a foul and not actually scoring a basket. Hope that makes sense haha!
Martin's role here was different and Kevin had to adapt to the new rules, and still does, can't blame him for that. When it worked, few were complaining. Kevin was actually brought in as the 2nd star next to Yao, which was not even with a healthy Yao not going to cut it.
Martin was not "great" as a Rocket. He was a poor man's Otis Birdsong.... He is finally in the position he is best made for... 6th man in the vein of Eddie Johnson & Ricky Pierce.....
It will be interesting to see how he does in the playoffs. KMarts per 36 min pts of 18 is pretty close to Hardens 19.3 last year. His minutes per game of 30 is close to Hardens 31.4 last year. Harden was a better rebounder and assist guy, but otherwise KMart has been a good fit for OKC.
Yall fools hating on Martin Martin was good, he did what he was suppose to do, shoot threes and draw fouls, he was my favorite player while he was here
Everyone hated on him when he was the #1 option and now that he's in the role that's probably the best for him, hes still hated.
