Nice video. KG might be a jerk in general, but one thing I really respect is his loyalty to his team and teammates.
I do respect his work ethic, Heart and Passion. That what makes him so special. This. Not his exciting all around game It would be sad if he's going to retire this year.
Ask his twolves teammate that KG decided to sucker punch. KG is a douchebag. And beyond that, severly overrated. He never came close to "leading" a team. Everything people thought he might be giving to the celtics they realized was all Kendrick Perkins. I really dislike KG.
Kevin Garnett to me is proof that no matter how good you are, a player won't be able to achieve anything with crap management. I also feel kinda' bad for him, if he and Tim Duncan had exchanged places we'd be talking about KG as the GOAT PF, he was just as good as TB in his prime IMHO. Nice to see him end his career in Boston and with a ring.
Interesting. Daryl Morey has always called him ridiculously underrated. He is one of the best defensive players to ever play the game, no question. TWolves KG was a force to be reckoned with. The guy was putting up 6 assists a game as a PF. To give Kendrick Perkins the credit is extremely ignorant... Kevin Garnett was responsible for Boston's ENTIRE CULTURE SHIFT. Ask any of the coaches, Ask any of the Boston players. He holds everyone accountable.
Kg is the reason Boston won that championship, he completely shut down gasoline and odom if I remember correctly, essentially forcing Kobe to make every play. If he was healthy the next year celtics probably repeat, they definitely don't lose to the magic in the east finals. He does come off as a bit of a douche, but if you can have someone like that on your team, you take him every time.
KG is a douchebag and a stat padder. Yes he won a championship in Boston ... together with two other HOFers on the first "superteam" of this era. And if you want to know something about KG's earth shattering defense, you don't have to look further than the 2002 playoffs. Before the first round, KG made this announcement: The result? A sweep, Dallas won 3-0 and Dirk dropped the following numers on his sorry angel ass: 30 pts /15 rpg in Game 1, 31/15 in Game 2 and 39/17 in Game three, on 52% shooting and 72% 3pt.
I do think KG is elite but the "black angel" story is so good that it's up there with "Birdman's gonna fly" or whatever that was.
This. series. was. glorious. I absolutely loathe fake hustle. And, IMO, KG is eat up with it. Has he ever initiated any kind of physical altercation with someone that was over 6'5"? Douchebag of the highest order.
KG is a really really good player and a really really big douche. Personally, I think he's not even top 5 all time PF's. In no specific order: Duncan Malone (ugh, pains me to even say that) Barkley Hayes (not chuck) Nowitzki then Garnett.
