Durant is an athlete. Berkman plays baseball.

    That is totally awesome!

At the same time, KD has no business doing that. There are safer ways to defeat lockout boredom. I cringed a couple of times. Sam Presti and Clay Bennett will probably need respirators after seeing this.

Being an athlete has nothing to do with stepping in a hole and tearing a hamstring or someone accidentally falling at his knees and taking his acl with them.

I'm amazed how the fame and fortune hasn't gone to his head at all.

I'm sure there is a bit of cynical PR work, but name another pro player that drives down to a college and plays flag football? Best PR work ever.

    PR ploy?

Unless a superstar athlete stays home he's getting PR. Positive or negative.

Trip to McDonalds for a McRib=Bad PR.
Go to the Gym to work on a jumper=good PR.
Going out on a date with a Model=Bro PR.

It's all PR so you might as well do good no?

i know. i'm just saying, when you do this over twitter, you know a ton of people are gonna show up, and you know there's gonna be cameras putting the vids on youtube.

    once again, it's awesome regardless.

About the only criticism I have is that he didn't come back to Austin to play, but other than that, it's a very cool story.

Would this still be awesome if it was Matt Barnes or other scrub?

If he got hurt and injured for the season, and his contract said he shouldn't do stuff like that, and then next week the lockout ends with existing contracts being honored, would KD be in violation of his contract (not that they'd do anything about it, him being KD and all, but again if it was Matt Barnes or some other scrub)?

    Whatever... definitely cool story bro.

Just gonna throw this out there. Kevin Durant doesn't have the prettiest throwing motion.
