This is my gut feeling. I don't think it is either a good thing or a horrible thing. It just is. America will survive but surely she must improve to continue to lead and to deserve leadership well into this 21st century. I'm not voting for them or anything...
Although I have grave misgivings about voting for either Mr. Kerry or Mr. Bush, there is one huge positive about a victory for Mr. Kerry. Hillary Clinton's presidential aspirations will be mouse-trapped within her own party and, finally, dashed on the rocks of age.
This is neither new nor ground breaking. I called it first like I called the Astros over around month ago. Mine was vision revealed but some might think it is crazy talk but it does not matter. Anybody who know how things work in the spritual realm will understand what I am talkin about.
I disagree. I, for one, would not be opposed to voting for a woman as president -- just not one as devisive and negative as Mrs. Clinton. Glish21: Be realistic. There would be a very large number of advocates for Mrs. Clinton. However, there would be an equally large contingent of opponents. The country, IMO, would be needlessly and hopelessly polarized -- very like the country was prior to the Civil War, albeit not for the same reasons.
i wasn't taking an opinion in anyway i was just curious to see who would be inclined to vote for her.
I respectfully disagree. My gut feeling is still W will win in a suprisingly easy fashion. I know that feeling you have, though and it feels good so props to you!
That's the way I felt after the RNC (when they were hammering the Dems). Today, even Kerry is downplaying the polls (and debate results). Which means, I don't think Kerry is taking anything for granted.
Calm down. What you are feeling is the after effect of eating at Taco Cabana. Take a good dump and relax. The feeling will pass soon.
Apart from baby bounces, it's been tied since Kerry got the nomination and it still is. The momentum's traded back and forth, but that's all. I've come around to the feeling that the debates will play a much larger role than I'd thought. The pressure's on Bush (and, more immediately, Cheney) now to make an exception of that first one. If they don't, I don't really know how they get momentum back. They've thrown a lot at Kerry and if he's actually weathered it I don't know what else they can throw in ads and stump speeches. Either way, it's looking more and more like it's gonna come down to turnout. Momentum doesn't necessarily count for a lead outside the margin of error. The base counts like crazy on both sides but the newly registered voters could make the difference and the wild thing is we have no idea who's winning the registration race. All that said, I've been predicting a Dem victory since around the beginning of the primaries and I'm sticking with that. Of course I'll have a nice consolation prize in some Rockets tickets from Chance if we can just hold Bush below 57%. That's looking pretty doable these days.
Speaking of Hillary, so many people despise her that Kerry/Edwards should run on "Kerry/Edwards '04. Hey, if we lose, Hillary will run in '08".
I'm going to stay up late tonight and start a chain email. Be looking for it; I've gathered all of your email addresses....
Kerry is some kind of survivor. Early in the Democratic primaries he was running way behind and look what he did. He has parlayed a totally unremarkable senatorial career into the Democratic nomination for president. Plus he married two rich women....
