Have any good information about him as a basketball player? IS he a 3,4 or 5? I read his bio on NBA.com. I do briefly remember him at Denver, at least when he played against The Rox. Info request. Keon may technically be a 4 by size, but in today's game he is probably more effective at the 5. I'd love to pick him up in a Dream S&T. He's extremely long, can cause headaches defensively with his shotblocking, and he has quite a few moves on offense too. He's very good at posting on the right block, and making a move to the interior for a hook or jumper. (he's left handed) On top of that, he is still a pretty decent shooter out to 15 feet or so. The only problem I have with him is that he is extremely skinny. He may be listed at 6'10 220 or whatever, but that doesn't tell the whole story. He's a very effective center for 20-25 minutes per game, but I don't think his body could handle over 30 for an entire season. Couldn't agree more, Cat. Last year the Raptors were on TNT/TBS like every day so I got to see alot of Keon. Really high energy, high intensity player who is a crazy shotblocker. I was shocked to see Denver trade him for an aging Kevin Willis...but then it again, it is Denver. Anyways, Clark's got some decent post moves like a hook and a fadeaway. Basically, he's the center that Cato could be if he tried. Think Marcus Camby, but left-handed. Actually, if Keon would commit to bulking up a bit as Marcus has, he could be a pretty effective role-playing C. He's also a spliff smokin' fool who has admited in the past that he doesn't like basketball that much, and doesn't even shoot baskets during the offseason. Oh, he also was suspended twice his senor year and then quit the team halfway through the season. Almost as good a way to finish your UNLV career as being Isaiah Rider, and being suspended because you turned in papers with your name spelled "Isiah", written in your tutor's handwriting. Unlike Cato, he seems to care when playing. But deep inside beats the same heart of a failure. ------------------

Keon on-court play should be enough to satisfy any coach in the league. When it comes to play he's as effective defensively as you can get, and thats what the Rockets desperately need. The very few times I had a chance to see Keon play, he was the most impressive player on the court when it came to shot blocking, rebounding, and overall hustle and energy, and that, to me, translates into having a major desire and interest in the outcome of the game, something that Cato defintiely does not have. rfs81, Unfortunately, Keon has been painted with the same brush as Cato on a few occassions. Ottomaton, Yeah, I remember Keon having "problems" at UNLV. But I didn't know about JR's "problems" . Personally, I have always had a much higher opinion of Keon than Cato (Cato had all of 1 good season at ISU, guess which year that was knowing his background ), and I liked him at UNLV. He's TTTHHHIIINNN!, but he seems to be A LOT stronger than he looks. He'd be a good fit here. ------------------
RocketBuster got it right. This guy is a poor man's Lamar Odom who looks (REALLY) like a Raptor and has a nose for the ball. Quick, tenacious, all over the place. Good defender and rebounder. He'd be a great fit with the Rockets and strengthen our interior game...exactly what we need. All for acquiring him in SAT if that is what it comes to.

don't sleep on keon clark's skills. dude would be a serious defensive contributor on the rox. he's very skinny, but could DEFINITELY play the 4 and pick up some spot 5 minutes. oh yea, he's a 7 footer with a 40 inch vertical ------------------ shandn has no "o".
not so fast my friend. so far, that deal has gone our way (although in a few years, if keon develops, then the age factor shifts it). as for how keon plays, hes not effective as a 5, especially out west. hes best as a 4 and maybe a little 3 although he doesnt have range. he can guard 3s though cuz he has LONG arms. good shot blocker. ------------------ the nuggets suck...i know, i know!
This may not be a bad idea after all. look guys, why don't we work S&T with Toronto. Sending Walt Williams along with The Dream to Raptors, and getting Keon Clark, Mo Pete, and other cap fillers in return. Sounds like a good deal to me... ------------------
throw in carter. that way the salaries match and now the deal is fair on both sides. they get the center they deseperately need and a great veteran 3 point shooter off the bench (who with the new rules with have added value). they give you a big man they dont need now that they have jerome williams signed, in clark. a swingman who would fit in nicely in mopete, and a sg who can come in and compete with mobley to start at sg. at worst you have a decent 3 guard lineup with francis, mobley and carter. works well both ways. ------------------ the nuggets suck...i know, i know!
