I think Keon Clark is a better version of Cato. He block shots, rebound, and has a better offensive game than Cato.

You are right, although he's rail thin and has a hard time playing C in the league. he also has character issues, which has limited his carreer.

Plus he is coming off an injury that kept him out just about all of last season.

I think the fact he was injured last year, makes him more affordable to us.

You're probably right. If we can sign him to the vet minimum, he would be worth the risk.

Seriously, this guy could be backup C and also help at backup PF. He is thin, but he's quick and extremely athltic. He would come cheap and could easily backup Yao for 15 minutes and get garbage minutes at other positions.

2 years@ 2M per year, player option on the second year.

I like Clark as a shot blocker. I like the fact that he is different than the other post players (Howard, Taylor, Spoon) in that he is more athletic and could guard those taller, quicker PFs that we see in the West. The only downside to Clark is that he can't guard the strong post player because Clark is just too thin. That means we probably would always put our PF (Howard, Spoon, Taylor) on the stronger PF/C and use Clark to guard the other which would allow weakside shotblocking.

Clark would be great for part of the MLE. But the market rate right now is much higher.

Clark would be fine. He would give us about the same production as Cato.

Rebounding and shot bocking are about the same. Clark could guard the quicker 4's unlike Cato but would not provide the same beef for stronger post players like Cato did. I would take him though.

    1) Sign Clark for the smaller exception
    2) Sign Swift to the bigger exception
    3) Trade TE and exception for AD/filler

I think that would about do it :D

Filler sounds like the same thing as dead weight.

If you are going to send the trade exception then I would want to get something good back in turn. If we give up a good scoring option from the bench like Taylor I better get something significant back as well.

Clark would be nice backup for Yao. No more than the vets minimum though.

When healthy, Keon is a VERY good player. He's very thin, but is a quick jumper and has height. Great shot blocker. I don't think his physique matters much when he only has to play about 13 mins at center. And he could put in the rest of his minutes at his natural PF position.

He's a high energy player. something the Rox could definitely use.

    I'm all for it.

I would like Keon. He might be the best choice for a backup. He may have his best season under JVG's system.

True, but you get rid of a somewhat unreasonable contract and theoretically get a starting PG in return. Filler, Booth, James, etc. Though I dont know their contract situations.

MoT provides a valuable service scoring off of the bench. James, Both, etc...are all wastes' of air and provide nothing. Daniels is ok and I would like him but not at the expense of trading MoT for one of the Seattle stiffs.
