Carl have just suspended Kenyon Martin for some conduct detrimental to the team. The guy was just creating his own way to get traded next season i guess. i never seen anyone pulling some crap like that in the middle of the playoff. It's kind of scary to go after with this guy with several injury this year and not to mention, Kenyon has that back problems too i think like what Tmac has. But this guy has some game and he can be our guy on 4 spot. But he is pretty hefty on his salary ($9+ Millions a year til' 2011). I got a strong feeling that this guy wants out!!!But it's very risky!!What you all think?
You kinda answered your own question. Why would we want a max player that produces less Juwan Howard?
like u said, it's risky.. but I would take the dang risk any time when I have JHO as my starting 4... Kenyon is a great player, and he has this "midrange shooting dimension" like JVG wants plus being a great rebounder, Defender, and Dunker (the dude goes crazy when he dunks)... if he guarantees us that he aint gonna get injured (I know that's stupid ), then we should get him...
for the mid-level exception? Yes anything more? No Guy is very overrated. I suppose pounding your chest after monster dunks gets you on SportsCenter though. I know it doesn't mean much but Juwon would probably school him in a game of one-on-one.
no kidding.....Juwan Howard will school him with all the mid-range Js btw..... i think K-Mart is another Stromile Swift with more mental problems
I kinda agree with u about the "more r****ded Stromile"... that was funny .. but to say that Juwan can school him, that's too much for me... actually, forget all Kenyon's dunks, if he plays JHO one-on-one midrange shooting, he'd kick the heck outta JHO's butt.... the dude can shoot.. but like u said, we dont want another psycho like Swift..
Yeah, haven't you heard? His effective field goal percentage from midrange is 39.2%. He's almost up there with Bogans at 40%.
All we have to do is teach Bogans to beat his chest after a dunk(he can dunk can't he ) and we'll have a poor man's K-Mart without the haed problems.
KMart have just become spendable when injuries hit him so many times and look at the gamelog without kmart,it's almost all the game he was out was a win. Imagine next season when Yao and TMAC are both healthy, KMART will be getting a lot of that allyhoops!!!Oh! and about the JHO's one-on-one game, Juwan will eat dirt all the way.
I tend to think the only thing more stomach churning and soul crippling than being stuck with Juwan's contract through 2009 is being stuck with Kenyon's through 2011 . . . Unless of course you happen to be Juwan or Kenyon.
Thats funny. I seem to remember Kenyon Martins spectacular performances in the finals when he went 3-16 from the field for multiple games in a row. I say we should pass on him for the following reasons. 1. Headcase/Inflated self worth 2. Poor Shooting 3. Injury prone. 4. Contract not in line with actual player value Granted he would bring better d/rebounding/weakside shotblocking/to the table than juwon, i think JuHo would kill him one on one. Would i rather have Kenyon martin than JuHo? Of course. but just not at his current contract.
Maybe the Knicks will take him for Starbury, who is probably equally hard to trade. Or maybe to Golden State for Dunleavy's horrible contract.
Let's see....we have 75% version of Kenyon Martin in Swift, but for less than 50% the price. Please remind me why we would want a player making a near-max contract at roughly 11 million/year, when he brings absolutely nothing to our table besides some above-average man-to-man defense (which incidentally is rendered useless out west because he's about 25-30 lbs. too light to effectively defend any of the elite power forwards).
Kenyon Martin, Zach Randolph, Carlos Boozer are all overpaid players that can be had if the rockets really wanted to do it. Unfortunately Stro looks like a real bargain next to these guys' contracts. If Les had Cuban or Dolan cash then we'd get one of them.
exactly. If he was going to be traded for peanuts and was healthy, then sign me up. If he is traded for peanuts, it's a good chance that it's largely because of the busted up knee.
