What did people think of the Hayes-Patterson combination to end this game? This is a combination I really liked. Maybe its more pragmatic and forward-thinking to play Hill rather than Chuck for his development, but my bias is towards enjoying the games right now. Yeah they're undersized and neither is a strong post up option (give P-Pat some time on that), but they're active and smart defensively and they're both very comfortable in the high post. That fourth quarter was fun.
The defensive intelligence is off the charts. They are not undersized where it counts. Goodbye Luis Scola.
I noticed Patterson was the first big off the bench tonight. It looks like his time is here to stay for good.
FINALLY! Finally a student tough enough, smart enough. strong enough, worthy enough of Chuck Hayes tutelage.. Chuck = Man. Pat = Man in training.
I can see why Kentucky is an NBA factory. From what I have seen so far, their players the past few years have been excellent.
I LOVE it, Chuck has improved offensively to the point that I would consider a PPat/Hayes starting front court or, at the very least, a closing front court.
Rick Adelman on Chuck Hayes after the game: "You know, I figured out, it took me a long time, that he's going to have to play more minutes." burnnotice, that one's for you. Long Tall Dude weeps.
i loved the combo. i would like to see them look for pat on the post. his drop step hook shot was very polished looking.
Couldn't agree more. Loved it. Patpat makes Hill look like a high schooler. His fundamentals and b-ball IQ are so much better.
Only took half the season, a Miller injury, and a Chuck Hayes injury, for Adelman to realize we need defense to win. Pay this guy more money, immediately.
If they play like that every game, I'm 100% for it. They looked outstanding tonight when they were on the court together. With that being said, they were going up against a Blake Griffin/Brian Cook combination...
