The man produces when he gets the ball, he is a great passer, and has some good post moves.

The Rockets need to get him involved more, we have too much of a one dimensional offense. ISO left...ISO right....it only works for a while, then the other team shuts it down, and we have no 2nd option.

Here is a question for you.....

Is Kenny left handed or right handed?

I thought he was left handed, but I noticed tonight that he shoots free throws right handed. Is he ambidextrious?...

If he is, all the more reason to get him the ball.

I don't deny that KT can do some good things when he's on, but what about those days when everytime he gets the ball and then does his little spin move and promptly loses the ball?
Is it me or is this a fact? I think he needs to work on ball-handling and work up some more inside moves over the offseason.
I really hope to see some good things outta him next season.

I think it is mere repetition. I think he just needs more touches, right now they are so infrequent that he may feel rushed.

It is a learning year, but I am not so sure I will be as content to lose games next year.

    GO ROCKETS !

Agreed...They have had ALL season to learn to work together. I won't accept those things as reasons next year.
Hopeful that RT and CD will try to keep this unit together and start next season with an effective, young team.
    Here's to next season!!

To my knowledge, Thomas is right-handed. If he's shown you an instance of unusual skill with the left, I say chalk that up to a luck. I like Kenny and defended him a couple of days ago on someone else's post. However, I don't think that he should be considered a top priority in terms of the offense. Obviously, Francis is the first option, followed by Cuttino. The rest get their shots off of what these two do. Thomas should remain in that catagory. I was severly disappointed tonight when I saw that Kenny couldn't post up DENNIS SCOTT one-on-one at the end of the game. In the 4th quarter, he got the ball on consecutive possessions and had a chance to back Scott down. Kenny lost the ball both times doing his infamous spin move, the one in which he faces up his man from the post-up position, dribbles right and tries to spin left for a shot. Anyway, Scott is a SF, and a horrible one at that! Let's face it, the last time Scott allegedly played defense must have been while he was at Georgia Tech. If Kenny couldn't take him down low and score on him, then he needs to remain in the garbage bucket, opportunistic scorer role. To begin getting plays run for him, he needs to be able to score more consistently. That consistency should not come during games, but over the summers and in practice.

    KT is *only* left handed.

How much "involvement" does a 40.7% FG shooting big man need?

Second game in a row DaDakota beats me to a thread topic.

IMO, Dad's comments cannot be understated.

Thomas is a surprisingly good passer for a PF. Man, he can pass on the move as well. Apparently this man is fearless now. Do you remember his first few games he said he was nervous sometimes on the court? Anyone who has played playground knows that nervousness creates tunnel-vision. Nervous players cannot see their teammates very well.

Thomas now looks completely relaxed, confident and fearless. With that comes the ability to see the whole court. Not only does he have that vision, he is using it. Did I say he's a very good passer!!

This is why I must caution HOOP-T and the other Fizer fans. We have a PF with oustanding footwork and passing skills that Fizer has *never* shown to date. Fizer may excell at explosiveness, but try exploding through NBA defenses at 6'7" without at least small forward speed, and then we'll talk.

Given the choice between tweeners: I'll take the footwork and passing over the explosiveness everyday.

HOOT-T: you know I love Fizer. Again, I'm just being cautious here about tweeners.

    Dreamer,

Much more to get his shooting touch. If that is what you use as a gauge, then when Mobley was at 38% you would have sat him down.

Kenny Thomas is a good offensive player, he just needs to know that night in and night out he will get his touches.

I knew someone would compare Kenny to Mobes. Two problems with that comparison.

1.) Mobley is now shooting over 42%

2.) Mobley is a guard who shoots from the outside much much more than Thomas. And, everyone keeps telling me about how great KT's post game is.

Don't get me wrong, I like KT. But, I don't think he's as good as some seem to think. I think he's terrible defensive player, and not on the same offensive level as Othella.

KT has shown some great potential in certain games. We don't have anything to lose by giving him the ball more... and we should try to find out if he IS our answer at PF?

Kenny needs a wider array of moves, but he has sensational footwork, and is quick enough to leave some larger PFs flatfooted.

I think we've seen more to like from KT than we did from Mobley last year-although take that with a grain of salt. I think everyone on this forum knows my love for Mobes [IMG]
