So much for starting off the year on a good note! Hopefully the pistons will have problems with the back to back.
I think he's just supposed to look cool on the bench verse... Also wasn't he the trainer for the Clippers when they had players like Stanley Roberts and Danny Manning falling apart?
I'd like confirmation on this. The Chronicle reported differently. I can't tell which report came later, or whether that makes a difference. Keith's the man. Leave the brother alone.
This means that we'll get to see 4/5's of our future starting lineup on the court at the same time. I think it'll be interesting to see how they play together. Now, if we can just replace Cato in the lineup. Isn't it about time he stubbed his toe? Then, we could put Collier in & we'd be complete.
I as well am confounded by this rash of injuries, some of which have to be attributed to Jones in some way, right? For years we have heard that we have one of the best team doctors and medical staffs in the league, but this season has seriously made me think otherwise... Come on, Keith, get these guys bodies together!
exactly. come to think of it, it seems that EVERY season, we have a rash of injuries. hakeem, barkley, motay, steve, etc. all going down for extended periods of time.
also, i don't remember many rockets developing very well physically. kt lost a lot of weight this summer, i know. but how much of that - if any - was a result of keith jones in the offseason??? motay supposedly lost 25 pounds this offseason, too, so the same question applies for him. cato has yet to develop (*physically or mentally) the way one would expect. has griff put on much muscle, yet? in the meantime, i've seen mike miller (orlando) put on 25 pounds of solid muscle in one offseason. i also wonder if our conditioning is a reason why we don't push the ball up court. might be not be pushing the ball as much as possible because of not being in "game shape"? i don't know. just pondering out loud. does anyone else think about these things, as well?
Did I hear someone say 4 and 5 of the future? Try the 3 and 4 of the future. Why would Morris be a 4 and Griffin a 5? Maybe its just me.
I concur. I was wondering about that myself. verse, who's to say Mike Miller's puting on 25lbs. is any more or less the influence of the team trainer? It seems to me that while this year has been particularly bad for injuries, the fact that we sustain injuries every year makes us like most of the other teams in the league, not exceptional to. We should hire one of those faith healers on TV, and bring all our injured players to him during halftime.
Do the Rockets have a conditioning coach? That is usually different than a trainer. I never really thought about it in Basketball but almost all football teams from high school and up have conditioning coach and a trainer. Trainers tend to handle medical problems while strength and conditioning coaches handle things like diet and weight training, etc...
Not like this is in defense of Jones or anything, but Barkley and lots of other players have/had their own personal trainers, so I guess it's not all his responsibility.
I agree on the injury prone, but as for the conditioning... Francis really bulked up after his rookie year. Mobley is in superhuman shape. Griffin has put on more muscle since college, KT has slimmed down, and Cato has added muscle to his upper body. I think the Rockets' strength coach is Anthony Falsone. Anyone care to verify? BTW, Keith Jones' title is 'player liason'.
