Just got a little inside 411 from a friend of mine at the sports radio station here in NYC and he said that during an interview with Kenny Smith, Kenny mentioned that he is interested in coaching. He really has no idea where he will begin but says that he still has ties in Houston and he would like to return to Houston as an assistant to Rudy T.

This could be a pretty good deal considering that Kenny use to be a point guard and would be a good mentor for Francis.

Kenny said that right now he is concentrating on finishing this year with TNT/TBS and will consider his coaching future in the offseason which he hopes is a return to either Houston or New York.

I could live with Kenny on our sidelines. He seems to have good knowledge of the game and players' tendencies and he and Rudy obviously can work together.

I'd miss him on the Turner network though. He's about the only member of the national media that's always there to defend/promote the Rockets and remind everyone of the greatness of the '94 and '95 teams.

i would be in complete favor of that. kenny has always seemed like a person who is meant to coach. i think the rockets need an assistant coach who just recently retired and can connect with the players at a greater level then someone older like rudy. also i would really like to see clyde as an assistant in the future think that will happen?

Would that mean that I wouldn't have to watch him on TNT anymore? If so then hell yeah, bring him aboard. He can give the players haircuts on the plane.

    Clyde? No way.

He'd probably just quit on the team.

    How sweet that would be!!

Clyde.....no. I just can't see him being a motivational presense(not that he is a downer). He is just too laid back for coaching in the NBA.
