Kenny Thomas demonstrate tonight to KG what a true power forward should be. Contain Garnet,is not easy folks, especially, against one of the elite best forward/center that can really play the game was held for only 17 points. That's very rare for KG, night in, night out.Kenny is awesome at power forward position at crucial and tight situation and he accomplished the task! After this season is over, I really think KT should have a spot at 4 and deserve to be a ROCKETS!!!
I hear you, Kenny is really coming on strong. His last couple of games have really been impressive, especially the confidence he's gaining in his outside shot. The dude has some of the smoothest footwork in the league. When going to the rack he seems to just dart by opponents. Also, it seems to me that KT is this teams represent badmotha . You know, If anybody is capable of creating some elbow room down low it's KT.
About time the team GREW a "super mario 2" hard nosed, undersized (why is it always the small ones) person rather than trying to create one. That little slap-a-thon in Atl did wonders for him.
we must not forget that Kenny is being complimented by Griffin. They gave KG different looks and had him guessing who was coming at him under the basket....Kenny's footwork and defensive capabilities are above average, but slap a few blocks in there by Griffin and it makes it a whole lot easier! Kudos to Both....
Kenny's performance, last night, should not lead anyone to conclude that he should be a 4. In fact he was playing a guy who some say have been playing the 3, Mr Garnett. Also, just like KT, Eg was effective against him too. I would say that MoT also is able to somewhat contain him. So the conclusion should be that we have at least 3 guys who could do okay against KG. The beauty is that those 3 guys can be effective in other positions also, so they do not have to negatively impact on each others playing time. That way we can also enjoy, as a team, the luxury of DEPTH.
Although Kenny did great, there's no way Kenny or for that matter any other forward in the game should be able to stop KG. He has so much potential because of his skills and body but is at many times to eager to stand along the perimiter shooting threes. He averages a little more than 21 points per game which is good but not great. He has the tools to be better than Tim Duncan or Chris Webber but is too hesitant to take over a game. In some games he'll score 25 points in the first half and shoot two shots the next half. If he decides he wants the ball when the game's on the line and he decides to take over he will be unstoppable.
KT with the stripshow! Dayum that was great! That was a Junkyard Dog move, I agree! As KT would say -- ****!!!
