I listened to it twice, not classic in my opinion. Lyrics are good, production is not flawless though. Only listened via my crappy laptop speakers though(my headphones died this week), will bump it with my system today to judge.

Not a classic imo. I felt as section 80 was better. It was right there. Great lyrics and story line. Not a classic. But it can be in the running for album of the year for hip hop. F&L2 and Good kid.

Agreed, but don't think it should be AOTY.

    Best albums so far:

    Lupe - F&L II
Rapsody - The Idea Of Beautiful
    Nas - Life Is Good
Mayday - Take Me To Your Leader
Clear Soul Forces - Detroit Revolution(s)
Oddisee - People Hear What They See
    Killer Mike - R.A.P. Music

All several notches above Good Kid M.A.A.D. City in my opinion.

I felt Good Kid was below f&L2 , Life is good, and Idea of beautiful. Haven't heard the Mayday or Clear soul, or Killer mike (gonna go check it out)

I'm a hip-hop head... I loved the last wave of new artists, I'm a big fan of Cole, Wale and them.

But, this new wave of guys, I don't get it. Maybe I'm getting old or something but I don't get the hype of Kendrick, Ab Soul and those new guys. What am I missing?

    Love Kendrick Lamar.

He's pretty underrated. Section 80 was pretty damn good. Haven't gone through all of this album yet but it's been solid so far.

Could be mentioned too, right. At least 8 albums this year have been better, no classic.

I didn't really like F&L2. Prefer Good Kid by a decent amount.

this is what it means:the practice of drug dealers to hide small baggies in the inside of lighters, so they can get paid like they gots to.

Yeah, I kinda agree regarding F&L2. It's not bad (better than Lasers, which isn't saying much) but it doesn't come anywhere near the quality of the first F&L and The Cool.

I'm also not a big fan of Nas's Life is Good. I'd put it in the middle of the pack compared to his other albums. Roughly on the same level as I Am, God's Son, etc.

On topic, I'm going to check out this new album by Kendrick Lamar soon. Haven't paid much attention to him. Most of these well-received new artists haven't quite clicked with me to the same degree that the good 90s artists have. We'll see if KL changes that.
