Cato said he soon plans to hire an agent and expects plenty of interest this summer when he hits the free-agent market.Despite being injury-prone the past two seasons, Cato says he will seek a five-year deal starting at the NBA's mid-level exception (approximately $6 million).

How this good this scrub think he is? I doubt he gets a 1 year deal.

No, you're wrong. He's a big man, so he will get his money.

I think the Rox should pick him up for the Mid.

A three man rotation of Yao / Cato / Stro would be pretty tough to score on inside.

JHoward / Deke will be losing minutes and we need to position ourselves for the following.

Unless we draft a stud or trade Stro he is our PF of the future we need to plan for that and let him learn in the game.

We need a backup C and I cant think of a better deal than Cato.

Kelvin Cato was a better fit at PF alongside Yao than either Howard or Stro have been. He didn't score, but his defense and rebounding were very solid.

Is that contract up all ready?? Damn, it seems like only yesterday we were calling Cato every name imaginable.

Cato's contract seems like a steal compared to Dampier's, though...

We were the 2nd best defensive team in the league in the 03-04 seasons when Yao and Cato together almost completely shutted down the paint. I dont know how much damage the injuries and the age factor have done to him. But a healthy Kelvin Cato is perfect fit for this team, if only he had a mid-range jumper...

I have a feeling Cato will be picked up by the Hornets...they've tried to sign Steven Hunter which shows that they're desperate for a big man. He will most likely get the money he's seeking since big men in the league are usually overpaid (i.e. dalembert and the 2nd best center in the L). :/

6 million is a decent deal if he's got legs left in him.

He and his agent probably knows that he'll play a total 3 of his 5 years...

Double S, Double L is gonna want to get P-A-I-D this offseason. He's not going to get anywhere near a max deal, but he'll get the MLE or better.

Cato to the Rockets for the MLE? You have got to be kidding me........

That's way too much money for an over 30, injury prone, shot blocker that doesn't block shots, extremly poor and homeless man's version of Ben Wallace. He's completely useless offensively. Sure he can rebound a little, but we can do better than that.

Swift is like the should-be-better version of Cato anyways. Both have terrible hands and are essentially useless offensively unless somebody spoon feeds them the ball underneath the basket. Their strengths rest within their size and athletic ability which enables them to rebound and block shots. Neither are very intelligent or reliable and both are foul prone and career underachievers.

A PF rotation of Howard/Swift/Cato would make me want to gouge my eyes out and never watch basketball again.
