Lately cato has been more efficient in games, more than yao that is, considering minutes played. I think that cato should get more playing time and maybe if yao gets less time on the court then he will work more to become better and get more agressive instead of being nice to everyone and always so happy go lucky.

Cato needs more play time, but at PF, not at C. People talked about trade for E Brand. Hold it, Cato can potentially do Brand's job with his rebounds and D.

that would be very interesting, i think rudy needs to do something like that and shake things up instead of the same old rotations

Well if Francis would help get the ball to Yao, he might be more efficient.

yao ming is not the problem steve francis is ,although he is a great player he is not a point guard and until we get a real point guard the rockets will continue to disappoint us

I think it's safe to say everyone on the team contributes to the problem. Including you.

The only difference with Brand and Cato is that Brand can give u points . Brand is a work horse that can also score. I have no idea why Chicago traded him. But, I'm happy with Cato's production this year. He's doing his job of rebounding and rebounding. Yao does need some of Cato's tenacity.

I wouldn't say francis's apg is high...it's decent. There are lots of players who average as much assists as francis who aren't even point guards.

These days...teams with score first point guards as the leader of the team are never successful. I don't think there is a team in the league in the past decade that has had a score first point guard as the leader and did anything in the playoffs.

cato should be playing more. if griffin and moT don't shoot, defend or rebound well, take them out and put in cato. he should play more in the 4th quarter.

Steve's APG is far from high...maybe even low...

6 assists is not adequate for a superstar PG. It doesn't necessarily reflect his playmaking abilities, but it seems like win a lot more when he dishes at least 8 assists.

    SEEMS LIKE.

    No. It's a fact.

The Rockets need a trip to the doctor. Need to analyze themselves individually and as a team.

Oh yeah! About Cato. I want him to play more. But I also want Yao to play more.

I think it's the most effective to have Yao played for 30 min and Cato for 18 min...

I'm just astounded that there is a thread proposing to increase Cato's minutes. As recently as 6 months ago, there were threads wanting to trade him for as little as a six pack of beer.

Seriously though, depending on the defensive matchups count me in with those who like seeing Yao Ming and Cato on the floor at the same time. Has there been a successful Yao to Cato lob yet?

I agree; at the 2-guard position. It will be tough for someone like Kobe to shoot over him. Let not forget he compliments Stevie very well with his ability to role to the bucket and finish alley oops with authority and at an alarming efficiency.

    Just my 2 cents!

    I agree...

I wish he was to the beginning of the season form...

You should be able to balance out the playing time as Yao will be getting into foul trouble early vs. Shaq...

Cato is definitely more of the aggressive one rignt now...

I would like to see 10 minutes of twin tower action per game with Cato guarding the better offensive player (be it C or PF) and Yao set up in the high post or where a PF normally would on offense. That would allow Yao to be able to save some extra energy for his offense and get Cato in for more minutes.
