Great choice, IMHO. I think they are going for the way he was portrayed in the X-Men animated show from the early 90's. I just hope this Matthew Vaughn guy is the right choice. Before the first movie came out, I had seen Singer's previous work and felt it was a great choice, and a bold one. I've yet to see Layer Cake, but I hear good things. What scares me is that People felt the same way about Guy Ritchie's first flick. Can you really imagine Ritchie branching away from gangster flicks? Well he did and that movie was was a POS starring his wife. I hope Vaughn has what it takes.
Interesting choice for Beast, but the more I think about it the more "Frasier" could pull the role off really well. Sorta just thinking how Beast was in the cartoons, and how Grammer plays the Frasier character - they kinda seem a little similar. Both intelligent people.. err I mean umm people/mutant. Sounds like it will be good, looking forward to this one. Go Juggernaut (go Vinnie!)
DEAR GOD sign Maggie Grace EDIT: Apparently they all have been cast http://www.joblo.com/index.php?id=7522 I hope Vinnie bulks up for the role and Maggie...... :drools:
???? The way they left off the 2nd one, I thought for sure they were going to go straight into the Phoenix plot, probably the best story in the Xmen lore. And Angel as a central character? Unless you're talking about archangel, angel himself is a bore. Havok, gambit, collasus, cable, continuing development of already introduced characters, xforce brats, etc can all be more interesting than *gasp* a dude with wings. And they already had some ugly chick playing kitty in the 2nd movie, the one that could "walk through walls".
I read somewhere shortly after X-Men 2 came out that they didn't want to do Gambit because his personality is pretty much the same as Cyclops. Gambit is one of my favorite characters along with Ghost Rider. OT: I think a Ghost Rider movie is coming but I don't see how they can do it without it looking cheesy.
btw, Nic Cage is a pretty bad casting for him. I wish they went younger... but the bike looks cool...
Wow great pick for Beast!!! Grammar's voice will forever be etched in my head when I read comics from now on. He's going to need a pretty big suit though, eh? I wonder if they'll go with the old-school gorilla-man look or the modern blue furball.
Nicolas Cage??????????????? That's the last person I would have thought of. I do like Cage but I hope he doesn't screw this up. The bike does look cool.
Am I going to be the first person to point out that Kesley Grammar almost doesn't need a suit for Beastman? Just dye his chest hair blue.
That's the first thought that crossed my mind when I read this thread title. His voice is perfect enough, the blue chest hair is just a bonus... But they'd still have to paint the rest of him blue... So maybe they should stick with a suit. And I love Vinnie Jones! He'll definitely be an interesting Juggernaut. And I hope that the new director can do a good job. I was definitely pleased by the first two, I hope this one won't be a let-down. That would just completely blow.
Well I'm assuming they are gonna deal with Angel and Archangel into one, he's prolly gonnna be the Angel that is seen from the eyes of the Archangel, the one that is happy millionare playboy on the outside, but inside is someone with a secret that he has to hide his mutant ability.
