Did Van Gundy drop the ball with not keeping Azubuike? I know it's G-state and everybody scores in that offense, but it appears that KA would have been better than Snyder and has put up better overall stats than Head. The dude has good size at 6'6 as well. Oh well
Different situation, different system, different coach, too deep. Whatever the reason. There's a TON of players in the NBA that don't find their niche and stick with a team or prove themselves as a player until later on. I can think of J O'neal C.Billups, B.Wallace, and even our very own Mike James and Boki just to name a few. JVG very well might dropped the ball but who knows really. We got a great squad right now and Kelena would be chillen on the bench next to Landry and Francis so its a moot point anyways.
If I recall JVG wasn't our General Manager and never has been, as we all know Adelman really liked Mike Harris but do we have Harris currently on our roster?? The answer is no, because Adelman is our coach and not our General Manager either. Blaming JVG is as stupid as Blaming Adelman if Mike Harris busts out into stardom My question is how come we don't praise JVG for Hayes if we are going to Discredit him for Azu
Don't you actually think that the GM actually consults the Head Coach when it comes to cutting players ?
Yes. I would hope he does. And JVG did cut Hayes, then re-signed him. I hold out hope to re-attain Mike Harris.
we keep Snyder over Azubuike because Snyder's contract is guaranteed and Azubuike is not same reason why we waived Harris it's not up to the coach it's the owner
How many of you were actually screaming about keeping Azubuike that summer? Yeah, that's what I thought.
He's raw and athletic, he fits Golden State to a T. I'm not sure how he'd fit in a motion system that requires as much basketball IQ and passing and it does athleticism and shot-making. I know this much, there's no way I could've seen him succeeding under JVG.
we drop the ball on players all the time. dont think this ones necessarily Gundy's fault... its depressing though....but i feel better when i remember that we're 4-1 and the Warriors are 0-fer.
Sure, then he cuts the guy without a guaranteed contract rather than the guy with 2 years on his deal because he works for the owner, not the coach.
And you want to back this up how...other than your personal opinion? So far this season, KA is at 67% on jumpers. Last season, Snyder was 36.1%. The source is 82games and I really try to avoid being a stats junky. But I've seen enough of Snyder to know his shooting form isn't going to be in a BetterBasketball video any time soon.
